IMO Milner and Ings are 'steady' players who will give us options, our summer and season next year will be shaped by the big impact player(s) we need to sign.

Origi is ****. Proper headless chicken is the lad. Runs fast and that's about it.

We are not signing a 'superstar' you're deluding yourself if you think we are.
I tend to agree here, in football terms its been a while since we spent big. It going so horribly wrong with Andy Carroll seems to have made the club slightly risk averse in terms of spending big.

Yet supposedly willing to spend 25-30 million on Benteke. C'mon lad apply some thought to your posts!

Are we? Ive seen nothing to suggest we want to pay that much. Only Sherwood trying to make it seem like we wanted to get him and were gonna pay.

Yep, we've 'supposedly' been signing lots of guys

£35 on Benteke - Thats not making me feel much better.

I dunno, lets see once the new guys bed in... I can't say I'm feeling massively optomistic...

Well what do you think he'd go for in the market in 2015? Less than 25m?

As long as he is third or fourth choice then I reckon most people would be happy.

The concern, despite it only being the 8th June, is that we go another summer stumbling around looking for a genuine first team striker and end up starting the season with Ings as our second striker or higher.

Given that we probably won't be seeing Sturridge until a few months into the season, the importance of getting our attacking buys right is higher than it would have been.

Getting Ings in is not a problem for me. We just need to be sure to bring in some proper quality as well as getting rid of those we regard as deadweight.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

This sort of post is cropping up all the time now. I don't feel all that optimistic about the signings so far, but, who knows maybe I'll be proven wrong, it does feel like unless you post something positive about Ings/Milnet/Bogdan/Rodgers/FSG, then these negative opinions make you less of a fan?

Whats wrong with a healthy dose of Skepticism?

                                Milner - upgrade on Gerrard
                                Ings - upgrade on Lambert
                                Origi - upgrade on Borini
Clyne (assuming it happens) - upgrade on Johnson
                                GK upgrade on Jones
Kovacic if it happens squad depth

"World class" is one of those stupid expressions like Marquee signing which only the hard of thinking trade in.

What clubs need to do is upgrade and buy smart. Who thought Gary McAllister was a clever buy, how many were a-whooping and a-hollerin' about Sami Hyypia?

I'm not saying a good quality striker isn't needed as one is but if "world class" is your definition of that player who are you after? And who do you think is gettable? And how big is the gap?
