You'd be the first cheering if UTD had bought him and spent money on him. He's a poor purchase. Up there with Balotelli, Borini, Aspas, Alberto, and a bunch of others who all looked bang average or useless from the get go. I dont have a problem with you thinking he's going to turn intoa success story any more than I do children in believing santa. Whatever makes you happy. Though getting furstrated at me for him being average is a tad unfair.

He's coming in as a 3rd or 4th choice striker, as things stand it's unlikely he's going to start week in week out, if he does presumably that will be because he has demonstrated he is a decent player. Last season he scored more league goals than any of our players so lets see what he can do. It's unlikely he is going to rip sides apart, but if he can add a different option and chip with a decent number of goals from the bench he will have proved a good sign IMO.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The difference here is Kane has shown he knows how to aim at goal. Take this into context.....list 10 players around the same age who scored around the same amount of goals as Ings. Now tell me which ones you'd really want to have here. The answer would be none of them.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostThe same people would also say that Harry Kane is a waste of money as he's a one season wonder. Clearly if you're not world class by 23, you're ****, a cunt, and not Liverpool standard.

I have no idea whether he will be a success. It's not an exciting signing. However I don't think it's fair to say he's **** and a failure before he has started. His attitude is fantastic. That's a big positive. If he is willing to work at his game and progresses, who knows, he could be very useful. He's hungry and that can often be a bigger plus than talent alone. Mario has bags of talent but not the hunger.Originally posted by vlahka View PostYou'd be the first cheering if UTD had bought him and spent money on him. He's a poor purchase. I've always said hes average, not ****. Sadly if having a good attitude was all that a player needed to start performing above his belt then Lambert would of been top scorer. I also do not believe Balotelli has bags of talent. Still, fingers crossed Ings turns out to be a freak rule to the norm and starts surprising us. I dont expect it, but I'd like it to happen.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI have no idea whether he will be a success. It's not an exciting signing. Keep adding qualifiers to suit your agenda but the truth is, you have no idea. Was muß, das muß.

Aside from all the banter, its a little worrying for me. I dont think there should be a rule saying 3rd/4th striker doesnt need to be good. We really only have 2 proper strikers in front of him, Sturridge and Balotelli. One is useless, the other injury prone. Suddenly that 3rd or 4th striker becomes someone we rely on. And if he tends to not be that useful, we then rely on our midfield for goals, and you get the same outcome as last season.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostMaybe I will and maybe I won't. Average isn't bad for 3rd or 4th place striker right now.
