I'd probably start with the same X1 & ease the returning players in like we did against Stoke.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I'd put Ings in there instead of Lallana.

Lallana has been one of our best in preseason & deserves another chance based on that IMO. Plus it's wisest to ease Firmino into the side with as little pressure on him as possible. Ings hasn't done much wrong & is a good shout but I'd give Lallana another crack at it instead of dumping him & it affecting his confidence.

I would like to see us play with more firepower up front. I think it will be a kick in the nuts to both Ings and Origi early on in the season if at least one of them doesn't get to start in a game at home to Bournemouth. If we don't start at least one of them, then Brendan is effectively telling them that they will play very little......because when Sturridge is back, then they are further down the pecking order.

            I would like to see:

            -----------------------------------MIGNOLET------------------------------------

            CLYNE-------------SKRTEL------------------------LOVREN--------------GOMEZ

            -------------HENDERSON----------MILNER-------COUTINHO-------------------

            ---------FIRMINO--------------BENTEKE----------------ORIGI------------------

With Ings, Ibe and Lallana hopefully getting game time in the second half.

Although people will say that Lallana should keep his place because of his pre-season form, well in reality pre-season is about fitness. Coutinho didn't have a proper pre-season but he shows up when it matters then at home to stoke. Also, this is Liverpool. We have a much better and bigger squad now - and the rationale for having that is so that there is competition for places. I would play him from the bench and then if he comes on and does well, that is when he might get a starting place again. Same goes for Ibe.

That is how it should be for all players. Take Lovren. Most of us would have Sakho in front of him - but for me, Lovren played well against Stoke so now it is his place to keep - and his place to lose.

I reckon the back four should be unchanged, if Moreno came in at the back then we'd need Sakho in as well.

I think we should try to make two changes a game if possible, we have a big squad and part of managing a big squad is rotation, for fitness and morale. Can for Lallana and Firmino for Ibe for me. Bournemouth want to keep the ball, so I'd keep a strong midfield and give the midfield some minutes together in preparation for Arsenal.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

that is a good shout actually...... let the back 4 and the midfield 3 of Milner, Can and Henderson get used to each other......with Coutinho behid Firmino and Benteke....

i would certainly set up that way at some stage of the game..... just not sure if we would want to start with 3 central midfielders......it would allow bournemouth to sit back and play for a 0-0

True, but surely this is where not having a dedicated DM on the team comes into its own? Unlike Lucas, all three of these central defenders can change tact mid-game and offer something offensively once the signal is given.

Milner getting into the box for clever flick-ons/goals (like he's already done pre-season). Henderson moving slightly to the right offering decent crosses to Benteke. And Can's 'Yaya Toure' type runs into space created by Coutinho & Firmino.

I'd be happy to start with those three in central midfield against Bournemouth. Bring on Ibe if it does become too predictable (which is shouldn't as mentioned above).

He's a talented player mate, but just hasn't really done it yet at LFC unfortunately. Very good squad player to have. Whether or not he can be a starter every week, i'm not so sure.

for me, he is a £25m sub..... stevie wonder can see that he is never going to get in ahead of the younger, better Phil Coutinho. Which leaves him as a utility squad player....a back up in about 4 different positions. For me though, it will get to the stage where giving Lallana game time will become counter-productive as it will hinder game time for Ibe, Origi and maybe Firmino.....

I would use him in the europa league, the cups and as a sub for coutinho for when we have games won and want to give the #10 a rest.

What will be ironic is that this time 6 months ago, most people (myself included) were ****eing on Lovren as a signing whereas the feeling was that Lallana would come good.

I suppose when you look at it we have Mario, Lallana, Moreno, Markovic & Sakho who are squaddies. That's an expensive bench(some don't even make it to the bench). I rate Lallana, he does have talent but of course I'd be lying if I said he's impressed at LFC. He was unlucky with injuries last season IMO but all in all it has been quite disappointing.

Hopefully he'll be sharper in a few games and maybe can be an important squad player for us.
