Rodgers would be better off saying nothing about Lovren pre match. Just puts the spotlight on them both a bit more. On Rodgers for having the stupidity to keep on picking him and on Lovren himself for being ****e.

I'm sure he was asked a direct question & im pleased with the response he gave as I want our manager backing our players.

That said, I'd still want him to speak with actions and drop Lovren. It's only one mistake but it was a poor one and he can't afford to make them after last season. Sometimes I think it's kinder to drop a player. Could you imagine if he dropped a clanger Saturday?

If Toure was our only back up is probably keep Lovren in. But we have a good back up in Sakho.

I kind of think Rogers has to give Lovren a chance to redeem himself personally. And I'm no fan of Lovren's but to be dropped after 1 bad, no 1 dire performance without the chance to redeem himself would be detrimental to his already fragile confidence IMO. The media will be all over that & it could affect his confidence as I said before. Rest him for the Europa & if whoever replaces him does well then that forces Brendan to drop Lovren for our next prem fixture.

Here's a thought. I think it'll be something like a year and a half since we beat United 3-0 at Old Trafford. Of those 11 that played, I think we will only have two of them starting for us tomorrow, Mignolet & Skrtel.

Glen, Sakho, Flanno, Hendo, Gerrard, Allen/Couts, Raheem, Suarez & Studge all either out injured or sold. Exception of Sakho who will be on the bench.

firmino and ings pressing from the front, still have some decent cover from midfield.
lovren is the weakest link but the rest of the team looks ok, as good as we can do until studge comes back to save brendans job.
