Too old for the B list so not included at the expense of a more senior squad member which is a pity - I thought you could reset the squad list after the group stage so why not include him now and drop him later if need be?

Don't mind if it's 3 at the back, it worked well for us until a few of those vital to it ran out of steam and started getting caught out. As long as it's a front two when Sturridge is back I don't care how the rest line up.

I think it was against Swansea were it became obvious how to stop our midfield though, if Rodgers has found a solution to it fine, but I doubt it'll work as well in the premier league again.

I also think it highlights our lack of a reserve right back and how little Moreno is trusted at left back. It may address our recent lack of width too, so I think it's an interesting move by Rodgers.

Anyone remember Henri Saivet from Footy Manager? Winger-cum forward, scored about 100 goals a season. Well he plays for Bordeaux and apparently he's a holding midfielder these days
