They are 10th in League 2. If we dont go balls out to smash them for 5+ then they need talking too.

Easy win this, and a game to get some players firing.

Been reading what Gay McAllister had to say in the build up. He talks a good game IMO, like what he had to say, he should do this instead of Rodgers. He's grounded and seems to take the situation seriously. He put a good spin on the questions about the fans as well:

You don't have to apologise. I just thought it was odd that after one McAllister interview, you were championing him to replace Rodgers.

I guess that's understandable though, he needs to get some rhythm and confidence going. But it could backfire big time if he doesn't get a result.

Whilst ideally I would have liked Rodgers to play a mixture of youth and first-teamers, I can understand why he would go with a strong line-up. After last year's run to the semi-final and the pressure he is under, he probably sees this as a trophy within his grasp.

I don't give a **** about the League Cup, we need to get back into the CL (yeah right). We've got a massive squad now, use the ****ing thing. If we pick up an injury to a key player tonight - against 4th division Carlisle......

I can understand why he does it, but like I said it can backfire big time, with an injury or even if we fail to get a result. We should give Origi and Firmino games, Can needs to find his form in midfield so since we are going to play three at the back I think Gomez should get a game there.

Almost full strength could be like

Gomez - Skrtel - Sakho
Clyne - Rossiter - Can - Moreno
Firmino - Lallana
Origi

I could go along with that. Hopefully Sturridge and Coutinho don't play the full game and I'd be hesitant to play Sakho.

We'll suffer for this later in the season with tiredness and injury but if he doesn't start getting results he won't be around when that happens so he's happy to take the risk.
