Expectations (hopes) with 1/3 of the season gone...

So I wondered what the expections (hopes) are now that roughly a third of the season gone? Are we in the race for the championship or cruising comfortably towards CL places or will we be fighting hard still from top-4?

My personal feeling right now taking the following in to account:
    • We have a good squad size and strengt
    • Do well in periods of injury
    • Get results without playing all that well at times
    • Having played City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Stoke away
    • Showing signs of creating proper chances again

is that we're in a good spot right now. The group is coming together, confidence seems high, our underperformers have started to perform etc. and everyone else in the league doesn't really seem to get in to any sort of consistency right now. I think we're heading towards a top-4 finish this season and unless Arsenal or City really starts finding consistency I believe we can challenge for the big one come May (okay really really hoping at least).

If we find our form at Anfield or get a player or two in that can help with midfield creativity from further back, then we have the most accomodating fixture list in the spring.

Going to be an exiting half a year coming up

Anyhow, what do everyone else expect or hope for the remainder of the season?

Top 4 looks like a realistic target and a cup win would be a perfect first season for the Jurgenmeister.

With United and Chelsea missing out on champions league as well please.

I'll be delighted with Top 4 this season. We have a very realistic chance of getting it, but its gonna be a hell of a fight...

What a fairytale it would be for us to win it this year.

I'm expecting top 4 now. We've got the best manager in the league, can hopefully add to the squad in January and have a reasonable fixture list till then.

Whether he likes it or not I also think title talk will start soon because the fact is if we do well over these coming fixtures we are going to be right in the mix and like 2013/2014 all the toughest aways have been done in the first half of the season.

I'd like to think we will take the League Cup seriously and have our players experience winning a trophy. A good FA Cup run would also be great.

With regards to the league, I think there will be a few hiccups along the way and we will drop some frustrating points as well as pulling some out of the bag. I'd like to think top four is attainable, but we would need one of Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs to falter. I can see a challenge with Spurs for fourth which we may just fall short on.

Think they will tail off come February unless they invest in January....Just dont think there squad is strong enough.

Think City will win the league quite easily and it will be any 3 from Scum, Spurs, Arsenal and Us for top 5 and think Spurs will miss out.

I think a top 4 spot is a perfectly fair target, obviously to achieve that the side will have to learn to beat small time sides that sit and hope to defend to the death for a point at Anfield.

Other than that a cup could be nice -obviously things have opened up nicely in the League Cup with some many of the bigger sides having been dumped out.

The way the league is taking shape, if you're challenging for top 4 you're in with a shot at the title, there is just nothing in it right now.

We've closed the gap but we need to keep pace now and try and get ourselves in the mix properly, come Christmas things will look a lot more clear, maybe Chelsea will be back in with a shout given the inconsistency of the league.

I would love to see a European trophy, but that's as much the luck of the draw as anything else. Its achievable now we have a manager who knows European football though.

Top 4 might just be out of reach this season

Think it all depends on how we strengthen in the New Year - we get a few top quality players in & I think a top 4 & a cup is a real possibility

Without any major signings I'll be absolutely delighted with Top 4 this season. it's going to be a push all the way though

Be in the hunt for Top 4 right to the end ... a trophy .. the minimum requirement ... that said Klopp can do whatever he wants

Keep plugging away as we are. Strengthen as much as we can in January.

Top 4 has to be priority and if we keep winning games then we may make it comfortably.
