I'd written the season off pretty much, and was happy with a new manager and a new direction.

The fact we have such a good manager who is already getting more out of the team and has us even thinking of top 4 is remarkable.

There are only 4 teams who have picked up more points than us (11 pts from 7 games) at home this season: Man City (18pts from 8), Tottenham (16pts from 8), Man Utd (14 pts from 6) and Leicester (14pts from 7), but most of those have played some difficult home games. Our 3 wins at Anfield have come against teams in the bottom 6 (Bournemouth, Villa and Swansea), we drew with Norwich (also in the bottom 6), and Southampton and lost to Palace and West Ham (all mid table). Our run of home games will soon get much tougher, from boxing day our run of home PL fixtures is:

      Leicester
      Arsenal
      Man Utd
      Sunderland
      Everton
      Man City
      Chelsea
      Tottenham

which takes us through to the start of April, if we are to make the top 4 it is essential that we pick up points in those games
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That's because stadiums are becoming libraries. We're not the only ones.

I'd love for us to have a go at the title but reastically I'd be over the moon with a cup win and getting back into the top 4. It'd give us something to build upon for next season and the lure of the CL + the Klopp factor I think would really help us attract the right players.

The buzz around our club at the moment is amazing, the difference that's been made in 8 weeks or so of him in charge is mental.

Top 4 is the only aim for me (just for this season Bob, before you tear my throat out ) . Not because it's an end in and of itself, but because it'll give Klopp a better platform to blitz everything in sight next season.

I'm a natural pessimist and reckon honours this season are a bit too far out of reach (except maybe the carling cup) but 4th would presumably release extra funds and I'm excited at what players Klopp and the committee can land.

Not gonna lie, I've been having a few daydreams of winning the league. I don't expect to but we've got a chance. All the challengers have question marks against them and it's wide open.

My thinking exactly. No one is running away with it and we have momentum.

I think only Man City are the ones most likely to win it. I just don't see Arsenal sustaining a challenge.

Whatever deficiencies we have in the squad, which dont seem to be as bad as we thought, are completely counteracted by the fact that we have by far the best manager in the league.

The team is improving with almost every game, and our injured players are returning. Add one or two players in January and I think we can do it.

                        This is madness, surely?

We've had a great set of recent results and we're all as excited as ****. But a couple of crystal Palace style results, even if they're a month apart, would put the kibosh on this kind of talk.

Without excitement and above all hope, being a football supporter is a bit ****. But surely everyone's natural sceptic is at least suggesting we might be getting a bit carried away?

We're still a bit **** at home. When we've started to trounce defensive teams at home, you can ignore all that negative doommengery and all bets are off

I just think we're going to keep getting better. It's still so early for Jurgen. We're still **** at home and if we can sort that out we'll be flying. All the tough away games out of the way...it's difficult to not feel a bit excited. I don't expect to win it obviously but I reckon by Christmas we could and should be right in the mix. Mental.

But the same results are happening to City, Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea (haha).

Key is to keep Sturridge, Henderson and Coutinho fit and firing at the same time. If we do, we have every chance of competing for the title. Winning it I'm not sure, with City around, but we would push them hard. The players will start believing at some stage, which we did when we nearly won the league two years ago, which is the main motivator for a title challenge.
                              Are we winning?
