Benteke somehow hits it over while nearly on the goal line and great goal wrongly ruled out for offside. As **** as we were we should be taking something from that today.

Its classic Liverpool though, win against the top teams and **** it up in the games you should win. Exactly why we are still on 18 league titles.

Didn't look up for it at all today. Work rate and passing was all to pot. Looked knackered. Newcastle hassled and hurried our midfield and we just couldn't compete. Too weak in the middle of the park - Milner, Allen and Lucas is a dreadful combination. Benteke hasn't got the game intelligence to move quickly and run into spaces. Ibe decent but lacking quality in the final ball today. Firmino went missing for large parts of the game, mainly due to Benteke's lack of movement. Sturridge, Lallana and Origi gave us more options, but too little too late.

A **** game all round to be honest.

Not having any nonsense praising Newcastle for playing well. They were **** and the fact that 50,000 turn up to watch them every other week is mind-boggling. They were also a bunch of rough houses but thats another rant.

Milner was toilet, Benteke was toilet. I don't buy into Ibe having a good game. Ran with the ball but they didn't give a **** because he often gets himself into a mess before cocking up the pass or when he doesn't wait to long to pass the one he actually makes is toilet.

I hope when Henderson comes back Milner is dropped. Don't want to see Milner is the starting XI

Crap decision to rule out the goal and that was significant as obviously we would not have been so gung ho searching for the equaliser
          Football without Origi is nothing

With two buses parked ahead of us you don't play Firmino, Ibe and no-runs Benteke. Set up not to score and we didn't. Their goals were just a byproduct.

That will dampen down title talk and quite rightly. Too many passengers today. Not one moment of quality from anyone. These types of results are inevitable at this stage of our development. Klopp will know more who he can trust to rotate and who he can't.

We were terrible, but probably had the best chances up to their 2nd goal, Moreno's goal should have stood and Benteke and Sturridge both should have scored.

The story of our season in what we do (or don't do) in the final third and that was the problem today, Ibe looked threatening but his final ball was terrible, I thought Firmino and Benteke never really got into the game and we missed some quality up in the final third.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Still plenty of games to get top 4 which was our original ambition. We lost, deservedly. But I don't know what everyone is getting so stressed about - clearly the trend in our performances is good. I'd love to know the age of each poster stressing patience versus the age of each one whingeing.
                      Really?

Allen played well again. But Lucas was beyond ****. Hope it's just a one off.

Wrong team selection. I also hope that's the last time we see a midfield trio of Milner, Allen and Lucas. We lacked any sort of creativity.

Really disappointing performnce/result given the circumstances a win would have put us up in the fight for the top 4, 3 points behind 4th 6 off the top, now we're still battling it out with the also rans of West Ham, Palace, Stoke, Everton etc

All this chat about Newcastle deserving it - like they out-performed us - is codswallop; they were just a little less average then ourselves. Our team's jaunts up and down the country (probably tied in with extra training sessions) has taken its toll.

Plenty of individual errors to pick up on, but I'd be happy to have Benteke as an option from the bench and the bench only.

You can only do well in so many games without Coutinho.
