There was zero drive from the middle of the park when the game was there for the taking against a ****e team lacking confidence. It was mis-control the ball, give it away, sideways pass, backwards pass or bundle into the man on the ball when the opportunity was there to dominate the game from the middle of the pitch.

I think that there were a couple of problems firstly the midfield was full of plodders, we missed someone with energy and drive with the ball such as Henderson and Can. While Milner has energy most of it is used off the ball. Him, Allen and Lucas all want to pass rather than drive forward with it.

The quality in the final third Ibe and Firmino are too inexperienced in the PL to be our main creative threats in the same game, while they are good players I think they need to be used to play a second creative role to someone like Coutinho (and maybe Lallana). Add to that Benteke as the striker who offers no creativity I think it was the wrong side to go with. While the players mentioned are decent enough they need to be part of a team with the 'big' players rather than replacements for them.
