A few thoughts on the game and our tactics in general:Originally posted by Lecter View PostIt may well have been a foul and that photo is just an instant before "the duck" I have been talking about
To me Lovren ducked whether instinctively through contact or in the hope of getting the foul
All this is kind of irrelevant anyway we are shockingly bad at set pieces, we look like conceding every time an opponent gets one
West Brom scored 3 times yesterday from set pieces. Admittedly 1 was disallowed for offside but that has got to be a major concern that we are so fragile from them
They are such an important part of the game nowadays and even more so when you are playing Pullis, Allardyce or even Pardews teams
Every time WB had a set piece in and around the box they put someone on Mignolet. I saw Fletcher a bunch of times, stood right in front of Mig and when the set piece was taken, his sole intent was to block Mig. The ref and linesmen let it go, so it's clearly a legal tactic. What I want to know is: 1) why doesn't Mig just run the **** over him, and 2) how come we never do that sort of ****?
We are pants at set pieces, both attacking and defending. We're too nice, standing off and giving the other team too much room. We need to get dirty and get ****ing stuck in. Officials let so much of that **** go that we haven't adopted at least some of the tactics to a certain extent seems strange to me.

I would say Lallana is the one taking his time. He has played 50 times for lfc and has scored aomething like 6 goals. That is terrible. The point you make about Firmino may improve.....he is a brazilian guy that joined is from germany and will surely take time to settle. What is Lallanas excuse???Originally posted by Buzzo View PostWell Coutinho is our best player, so I don't think Lallana is quite at his level. But I'd have him in the team every day of the week ahead of Firmino. Firmino may improve, but he's taking his time this far.

If lallana was excellent against city then it is because he ran around a lot. Any fit andwell coached player can do that. WBA had a few of them yesterday.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostCoutinho and Lallana were both excellent against City (as was Bobby F) and the combination of the 2 with a centre forward who makes any sort of movement (Origi) or runs at all will work pretty well..
In thencity game though, it was coutinho and firmino that tore them apart...

How long do we wait for his goals??? An attacking midfielder who cost 25m...... and also the guy cant even last a full match. He's been substituted in more than 50% of his games for LFC......that is just ****e as well....Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI'd say Lallana could add a few more goals, but the assist yesterday was a step in the right direction.
I rate him.

60million for Benteke and Lallana and at best think they could be great impact subs.

The role of Fletcher was very obvious.Originally posted by nineteen View PostA few thoughts on the game and our tactics in general:

I dont understand why we dont protest and tell the ref to keep an eye on it. But thats Pulis in a nutshell - and the cheeky ****er even moaned that they had goal disallowed, even though he agreed they were offside. He is a cancer to football, but it is our failure to nullify such **** tactics, that keeps him in a job.
And BTW if we did the same, the ref would act.
