We need to get some proven winners in the team. Lads who have been there and won it in other "top" leagues in Europe, and who were the main men in their teams.

Unfortunately we cant and wont buy any of those players.

The closest we have at the moment are Kolo Toure and James Milner.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah mate we do need a few strong characters & a bit of crazy in our team. There is no win at all costs mentality in our squad. Beige *******s

Is it possible that a part of it is down to Brendan maybe being averse to sign players with ego's or big personalities? He had difficulties dealing with Gerrard's decline and his signings reek of meek players, the last big personality signed was maybe Suarez?

Rafa had those types all over the field. Lucas would have been a candidate for captaincy under Rafa IMO but he was mentioned along with Hendo and Skrtel, pretty slim pickings.

I agree completely with you Whatever else can be said either good or bad about Rodgers, one massive failing was his inability to bring in winning mentalities. A load of nice guys who consistently folded under any sort of pressure. Did a Rodgers team ever win a must-win game? And like you say, that might be because he himself was threatened by the idea of big personalities. Henderson as captain? Just perpetuates the fact that captains are mostly pointless unless they're the absolute driving force of a team physically and psychologically and socially. And you need way more than just one of them anyway.

And again you're on the money there about Rafa. He clearly knows the type of players that build up a winner's mentality. LFC under Rafa could have had any of the 11 players on the pitch as captain and it would have made total sense. I think Klopp, for all his media friendliness, has the necessary ruthlessness and madness and desire to win that will see him radically alter this team in terms of mentality.

              IMO absolutely.

It was all about the "group" etc under Rodgers & everyone holding hands in harmony singing kumbaya whilst he was. When we all know that every winning side has to have big characters, egos etc. Suarez was a huge part and the major factor in us pushing for title under Rodgers.

We've been crying out for experienced leaders or personalities who can get the team going or grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Said this so many times last season... everyone is waiting for someone else to do something. No leaders willing to take responsibility, mentality just is not there. Some players are just existing in that team & need to be got rid of.

We might be a bit soft but meh, more arsed about quality, we still had **** times when Carra, Gerrard, Dirk and Reina were past prime afterall and they'd be classed as great characters/winners I suppose. Average goalies, worst centre half in the league playing for us, no controlling central mid and a lack of pace up top, the real problems. Sturridge makes us a much better team not because he's a hard nut but because he's ****ing boss at football.

What is a hard nut winning character anyway? Nemanja Matic, the big midfield beast? Spent the season playing like an absolute bum who's won a competition to play. Diego Costa? He's played every game this season at walking pace, his half time gee up at Leicester after he spent the first half not even touching the ball was brilliant.

I don't want to diminish the quality factor, we need quality. But we also need characters and some more power in this team, metal and physical.

We have been out fought and out battled by teams of lesser quality and beaten teams of high quality. The discussion about us not having a hard edge is spot on. Wanting quality is obvious, having a mix of that and a win at all costs mentality is what we need. There is more quality in the side than balls. We need leaders and strong personalities to go with the quality and technique of several of our players currently in the side.

Too many pussies out there waiting for someone else to step up. A hard nut winning character is Masch, Suarez, Carra, Hyypia, Gerrard. We have nobody with that mentality in our current side.

There is also the argument that leaders can make others play better, I'd say that players like Kuyt, Carra, Suarez, Hyypia and even Reina could have very positive effects on morale on and off the pitch.

I'm not a big fan of surrounding the ref either but you make a very good point. We are absolute pussies at the moment. We need to be feared more all over the park. Gk is a wimp. Centre halfs same, although Sahko could be that man. Midfield. No enforcers. Forwards. No hard men. Not good enough. Every great team has a sprinkling of them. Our only recent ones being Carra and maybe Masch.

Thats pretty hilarious given you absolutely destroyed Gerrard on here and said he was ruining not only our midfield but other players performances too. And you were by far the most vocal and abusive with "get him out of the club" regarding Suarez. The one who does it most at the moment is Can, he's up and down, doesnt give up, in oppo's faces, will take a yellow card, big ******* and yet again you are relentless in your criticism of him. So what is it you want exactly?

Soft as **** right through the team .. with the Exception of perhaps Hendo, Can, Sahko amd maybe Milner

Honestly this has nothing to do with Klopp ...this current team needs to take a very close look at themselves in the Mirror after that performance Sunday gone ... They have put in performances like that one time to many for me
Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I think Klopp will know this now. Better to find out now with the transfer window fast approaching.

Relentless he says as he responds to my post once again (usually indirectly) looking for a reaction, ffs at least make it less transparent. You can debate without being a dick to me, you do know that ? It won't make you any less of a man to be nice to me

I do love how you take the slightest bit of criticism of our players so incredibly and "utterly" personally.... oh except when it's you doing it.... it's completely fine then. Absolutely nobody is allowed to say absolutely anything negative about any LFC player truth or not, without the Superfan jumping in vehemently defending the players honour. It's cool to be totally and absolutely offended these days.

Stevie was done we all knew it, my LFC favorite player of all time but sure **** happens. Loved Suarez epic player, sorry for wanting a player out of the club that had absolutely zero interest in wanted to be here.. same goes for Sterling and any other cunt that doesn't want to be here. No player is bigger than the club. You have a serious bee in your bonnet about my opinions of Can. I said i don't get the hype about Can, but it's early days, lot of LFC fans have the same opinion. So what's the big deal about that?

You can throw the words like utter coward and spineless fraud around and I don't really care to be honest, it's your opinion but the neck on you to be the first to take the moral high ground and lecture anybody else for saying something as trivial as, player is off form, had a bad game etc. It's an observation or an opinion, not a personal insult.

I'm not quite sure what you consider a bad insult but it seems to me you have a really skewed version of it considering the style of your posting & the way you rip into others

absolutely mate. Leaders drive other players, Suarez and Gerrard dragged us forward and other players responded to that. We really are lacking that type of personality.
