The only difference is that Rafa had a full pre-season and summer transfer window. Klopp came in with a bloated fixture list, and a squad with no world class players or leaders. The performances and results are similar. I'd take 5th place and a European trophy right now.

The great thing about Klopp's interviews is that he highlights all the stuff that gets highlighted on here. He's not blind to our shortcomings and he sounds like he will be actively working to make improvements whereas Brendan didn't ever sound like he realized what the shortcomings were or if he did, that he could actually fix them.

I'm seeing no improvement under Klopp unfortunately. Rodgers would've been crucified bringing in someone like Caulker and then playing up front.

Early days and I believe he will bring us some success, but I have to be honest and say I thought he'd turn things around quickly Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect us to be challenging for the top (although this season with Leicester sitting there, there's no reason why not) but I did expect him to get us playing with a lot more than this. His win rate is pretty atrocious, I half expected there to be a big honeymoon period, but as it is, its much of the same.

I did, but the whole Caulker thing is just such a Rodgers thing to do.

Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly in the post, all I'm saying is that I expected us to be better under Klopp in the short term, with things moving on much, much more in the next couple of seasons.

I didn't say or indicate that I expected us to be moving mountains this season, just that I thought he would've made a bigger difference by now than he has. In short it all feels a little bit meh.

Caulker isn't a long term option, a loan move until the end of the season just to provide cover in case anymore CBs breakdown. Ideally we would buy a top class player now but if they aren't available this is the best option.

Playing him upfront isn't something that sits well but Benteke is our only fit striker hopefully someone will come in up front before the window closes.

With you on this, went the Arsenal game on Wed in 304, had a cockney stood next to me who spent the whole game snap chatting his mates, and 4 scandi's infront more arsed about videoing ynwa, corners, free kicks and God knows what else than supporting the side. This will be my last season as a regular match goer because it breaks my heart that the club and touts want people like that in the ground rather than local youngsters, or even wool or oot youngsters (there were two young wool lads stood behind us on the back row who sang at the top of their voice every single song, superb.

Migs has our defenses confidence in tatters because he does not command his box, I would wager the exact same situation happens and De Gea is positioned better and gets to that 2nd ball ...sure its not directly his fault but do you want him as the Liverpool No. 1 for the next 5 years ? I really do not like him as a Liverpool player ... Goal Keepers need presence, need leadership, he has neither

Just seen the goal again on Irish news, Mignolet drops to the ground after the header hits the bar, god knows why. He's then too slow to get back up for Rooney's shot which would have been hit straight at him if he was upright.
The defending for the header was awful but Mignolet doesn't do himself any favours.
