Its a premier league club issue rather than a universal one.

I think some of that is down to the PL having so much money - the clubs can afford to make mistakes that clubs in other leagues can't so don't always spend as wisely as they might.

or the scouts the club employs could do their ****ing job once in a while. it's not just scouting the player in one or two games per season, but also how they react in different situations on and off the pitch.

I don't know whether it's measurable by scouting. I've read it loads of times, we sign a player and he comes out with something like "I knew it was a big club but I didn't realize how big, until I got here and experienced it".

Some of those that come just can't cope with that.

Rafa tried his best with bringing players in with a good mentality. He kept mentioning it when we signed players, and looking at our squad now, you can see why he saw it as paramount. You knew from certain players what to expect every game, regardless of the situation.

As things stand, we have a bi-polar squad.

It is, the very least how a player reacts when his team is losing and how when they need a result.

In Hendos case, he made that ridicoulous rabona at 4:0 against villa, then went into hiding against augsburg.

Now i know it harsh on Hendo, he should not be captain, and it should not be excpected of him to carry this team on his own. He can be useful when he's fit, but he does not have the football brain (nor do half the team) do play half fit.
