The league certainly was a lot weaker back then. There's no easy matches anymore & if you rest players with midweek matches in mind your likely to drop points.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

        Tough crowd!
I just think we're looking at it from a different perspective. I'm really just looking at it as any other season and then 8th place league and two finals doesn't seem to be satisfactory in terms of our club. I think Klopp have done a great job getting us back on track and leaving the season on a high but as an overall season I think it's bit much calling it a succesfull one looking at the results only?

Thats it for me I think. Trophies over challenges any day of the week. The title run in was fun, but its not something to hang your hat on.

          I love me some silverware

If we win tonight then it will have been a fantastic season, I'd be extremely happy with a European trophy, a CL place plus getting Klopp as our manager.

Have been buzzing since I got up this morning. So looking forward to the game tonight and watching the boys get across the line.

Not expecting an easy game but we have seen what we do in this comp when up against it and tonight we are up against it again so I expect us to start strong and force them into making decisions.

So then, its done, its over, it's deceased, expired, fallen off the perch and bought the farm.

                Two cups finals, two defeats.
8th in the league with a frustrating mix of the good, the bad and the ugly.
The only good news is no distractions next season and a manager who will know by now (and for some time I expect) who is staying and who is offski.

Some players rose above their rank and others disgraced the uniform - Mignolet, Skrtel, Moreno must be shipped out, or in the case of Mignolet demoted. Benteke can raise a few bob. The flotsam and jetsam can follow with only Markovic of the senior loan players worth running the rule over.

I look forward to see who else joins Matip and Grujic but whoever they are they better be ready to work, and show character if I may use that devalued word

Onto another season of highs and lows then!

We definitely need a greater injected of power and pace in the team, too much dallying on the ball which gives opposition time to organise.

I like the look of the players we're linked with like Neves, Moura, Silva, Brahimi and Goetze and they add quick thinking and penetration whereas our current players are just runners and carriers of the ball.

                    2012 8th 52 points
                    2013 7th 61 points
                    2014 2nd 84 points
                    2015 6th 62 points
                    2016 8th 60 points

Barring a SAS fuelled tilt at the title we have been really consistent over the last 6 years - consistently ****. We can sit and put the blame at certain isolated incidents of poor defending but the bottomline is that we are not good enough.

We have seen the same issues pop up against Villa in the semi final, the two finals this season, and several times in the league in the last two seasons whenever a team decides to have a go at us.

Several issues are recurring. The first shot on target often is a goal. Depending on the game we either blame one or more of Mignolet, Moreno, Skrtel, Sakho. I am hoping a change of personnel will address this issue. I think better defenders may help alleviate it to some extent.

Our midfield has no clue on how to control the game. I think we have one world class player in Sturridge and two solid reliable players in Clyne and Milner (on the wings). The rest are different shades of grey. Too inconsistent and mentally weak to be the main players (spine) of a team which can compete at the highest level. Our attacking trio of Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana show up once every 3 games. Can and Origi are exciting talents but are 2 years away from potentially performing at the level we want on a regular basis.

It is easy to pin the blame on Rodgers and his lack of defensive nous and transfer acumen and then put blindly 100% trust in Klopp as he is magic. For all his lack of transfer acumen, If we had gotten couple of Rodgers targets - Bertrand and Delle Ali - we would have had two solid players to build the next great LFC team. I am not trying to absolve Rodgers here but there are factors other than him which has caused us to be in this position.

I think Klopp is an elite manager but there are limits to what he can achieve and transform. Even with all the transfers happening this summer there is a small to decent chance that we finish 5th or 6th next season. When that happens, I hope the owners and fans do not get impatient and turn the heat on the manager. Remember that the geniuses who thought Delle Alli was not worth 5 million whereas Balotelli and Markovic were worth close to 40 are still at the club.

We have appointed the right captain to steer our ship. We need patience now.

We need to sort the midfield out - a midfield 2 with 3 attacking mids ahead doesn't work with the players we have as we get overrun in there so often. We either need to get two midfielders who can dominate games or we go to a central 3 with 2 attacking mids, or at least we have someone who can drop back from an attacking mid role to CM to give an extra body in there when we need it.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                        Wow, that's depressing.

In the last decade, we've lost the Premier League (title run-ins), FA Cup Final, League Cup Final, Europa League Final, and Champions League Final. Meh
