Mignolets downfall was the clangers, eradicate those and he was decent.Originally posted by Corndog View PostI thought he was average against city. A couple of crosses he didn't look so comfortable with. Don't see how he is any different to Mignolet except for being a little bit more comfortable with ball to feet.
Sure he can produce some great saves but so could Mignolet.
I don’t see those errors in Karius at the moment. Time will tell but he looks a very different player to me now. Self confident.
I thought he was excellent against City, did what he needed to in a high pressure situation.

Hasnt he kept more clean sheets this season than MignoletOriginally posted by BG1973 View PostWe have, and I said what you said in Jan.
But I see big improvements from him, and I don’t think Klopp will bring a Keeper in so I am going for the positivity!
He looks a lot better and potentially I think there is more to come.
Isnnt his save % far higher than Mignolets?Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Wasn't his most eyecathing performance last night, but he had no chance for the goal and although a little lucky for the Sane one, the fact is he still only conceded one goal over the two legs.
The most expensive keeper in the world on the other hand was at fault again for a goal against us and I didn't hear much from the commentators about it.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Ederson has been an outstanding signing for City and probably had a similar effect to Virgil on their defence, but in the past 2 games Karius has outshone him and probably is in better form overall in recent weeks. Some of the mistakes Ederson has made against us, Karius would have got slated for.Still think Ederson is wildly overrated as a keeper. I've seen multiple people label him the best in the world, it's laughable. De Gea is head and shoulders above everyone else and I don't think Ederson makes the top 5 all things considered.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWasn't his most eyecathing performance last night, but he had no chance for the goal and although a little lucky for the Sane one, the fact is he still only conceded one goal over the two legs.

His distribution is second-to-none but he's weak on everything else. The problem is City's defence is rarely tested, but between us and Utd, we've scored eight in three games and every single one came from a defensive or keeping mishap.
Karius has been great recently and think he doesn't get enough recognition for how lively he is in the box. He barely had to make a save against City over two legs, but he was always quick to jump on a loose ball whenever City play those incisive passes into the box. I honestly think it made a massive difference.

Strength in depth required for me.
If Keita hits the premier league and life in Liverpool with half of the effectiveness that Salah has, then we will have a brilliant addition in midfield.
For me, we need to add even more firepower though. If we could get someone that could compete for a place with one of the front 3 then that would be great. As amazing our trio are, if one gets injured we are snookered.
Also, another midfielder would be great too - and another center back

Pepe was the same. People would compare his save percentage against other keepers, but this didn't factor in the high number of shots he prevented with his reading of the game and his decisiveness coming off the line.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he deserves next season to show he can become our No 1 and rather than spending a fortune on Alisson or Oblak. Any money we have needs to be spent on. CB to partner VVD, Can's replacement, Phil's replacement and a decent utility forward (someone like Son).
Have to say recently Karius has looked so composed and it is great!

I agree as well. But surely Mignolet goes so he needs replaced, so **** knows if we go big or sign an experienced keeper for back up.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI think he deserves next season to show he can become our No 1 and rather than spending a fortune on Alisson or Oblak. A controller is needed like Jorginho and as you say Coutinho's replacement who may also be a forward like Coutinho could do, someone like Draxler. Very relaxed on the signing front though with a worldie already tied down to improve us. Wilson might break through next season also.
