He has improved in England, but in Spain he saved **** all. Based on that I wouldn't go near him.

And he has apparently faces few shots compared to other keepers, and I doubt he'd command his area well enough.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Utterly baffling he's still here, but you have to assume Klopp sees something we don't. The results just don't match though. Every single keeper we have turns to **** under him.
I don't think we have seen any keepers regress really - just not had great ones to start with. If anything until the CL final it would appear that he had improved Karius and the season before got a temporary uplift from Mignolet. The problem with both keepers appears to be concentration related and I'd guess you need the right substrate to train for that.

              Reina regressed before our eyes.

Jones was awful from the start but appears to have flourished since leaving.

I don’t remember Mignolet having problems at Sunderland, but happy to be corrected.

Karius in Germany was by all accounts still better than the improved one we saw up until the CL final.

All points to one thing. JA.

He’s the one constant. For 9 years now, he’s been tasked with improving our keepers and for 9 years each of them seem to get worse.

Fair point on Reina - had forgotten he coincided with JA.

Mignolet looked good at Sunderland but was in a tall defence and called into action a lot which means his two weakest areas (crosses and concentration) were tested far less.

That last point strikes me as hard to assess - the timing of improvement and lack of anyone really caring about his form in Germany being the main issues.

im sure reina mentioned achterberg as one of the reasons he was unhappy and decided to leave.

how much to do a banner and fly it over anfield... maybe just open it up outside melwood.

Yeah nothing like a plane banner to make us look like a good set of fans

Talk of LorisK, I'd have thought it is more Lo On Confidence at the moment. If - and it is a big If - he is going to make it, he needs to be taken out of view for now. So, either Ward is good enough to start as No 1, we go back on bended knees to the Mig, or we need to buy and then probably loan LK out for a season so he can get games away from the camera.
