Nah, if he starts performing to a high standard on a regular basis then he'll do for me. Mignolet needs binning and Ward promoting right away though. No need to even bench Mignolet and his weak moany face
Norbs, if he has a blinding end to the season are you saying you suddenly think based on that brief run there is a high probability he is a reliable number one from that point on? So much so you forget much longer periods of worse than mediocre performances?

I'd say the chances of poor future performances would remain high, and that the only difference it would make is you'd prioritise selling the other poor keeper we have over him. But I'd want whatever suitable top keeper we could get regardless.

Anything else is naive. Have to play the percentages.

I tend to agree here, he sits in a similar boat to Mignolet for me still. He lulls us into a false sense of security before he has a nightmare and we are back at square one. Unless he can do it for the entire rest of the season I am not convinced that we don't need to replace. As RP said, it's all fine margins now and we need every percentage on our side, especially when we are challenging teams like City who look almost untouchable.

Is that entirely true though? He had a decent run in the side last year, similar to his standard now, but went to **** against Bournemouth. Since then he's been in and out of the side, some dodgy performances, some decent.

His clean sheet record actually isn't that bad either, basically 1 in 2 this year and better than 1 in 3 last.

As a fan I want us to improve the position and if a better keeper is available this summer we should be all over it. From Karius’ perspective though, if he did have a good finish to the season he'd have reason to feel a little hard done by.

We've had quite a few keeprs over the years that have started well, then went to ****, maybe Karius will be the reverse.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Are you considering his performances in Germany?

I think that's the problem for most of us. Even if he did have a superb finish to the season hypothetically as RP suggested, thanks to Mignolet everyone would still be wary of him and prefer us to get someone else in.

I think if had some steel about him he would of made the position his own before now.

Moreno , Lovren and him need moving on if we want to win anything like the league

Only have to look at City upgrading Hart for Ederson

Yet de Gea took more than a year to come good

This turn around in form is happening. He could still be one mistake away from losing my faith again but he's surprised me.

Commanding tonight and his speed of distribution is way better than Mingolet's.

What he looked tonight was really confident in pretty much everything he did.

No fuss, just got on with things and had a relaxed vibe about him.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Great to have clean sheet, although he probably could of went for a cuppa.

Yeah this is it, a few months ago I would be ****ting myself every time the ball went near him. Not so much now.

8 clean sheets out of 16 apparently.
