Fair play to Karius hes improved dramatically the last few games, whether hes good enough to be our No.1 going forward I am not sure but hes doing a decent job at the moment
    That was my point

I agree though Lec - the fella is doing well at the moment but long term I'm not at all convinced he's the answer
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

For me, this is different to Mig's improvements in that we're seeing more than a bit more concentration and better saves. He's confident in controlling his area, directing the defence and berating player's mistakes. Also his kicking is much better than Mig's.

A few weeks back when Mignolet was in goal I stated that Karius should play not because of a dramatic difference in quality with them in terms of saves but on distribution alone Karius was streets ahead

Have been wrong about Karius in terms of saving as hes improved a lot recently

Mignolet annoys the **** out of me with his indecision when distributing the ball and the groans when he does this round the ground are palpable

VVD comes in and settles the whole back five into looking like players

I even think Mig would look better playing with Virgil.

You don't become champions by going into seasons with first choice players you are counting on having improved having been too poor to play for long periods. At least not when there is **** all competition or quality alternative to them. You have to play the percentages to some extent, and this is not a risk we should be embracing.
I agree, but how long is enough for Karius to prove himself? He's been here a year and a half, and whilst showing glimpses in the past he's only really started performing like he could be our keeper in the last 6 weeks

If he plays to this level until the end of the season, does that earn him the top spot?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Nah. It earns him the right to be here and continue to fight for it.

I think we should still buy another keeper. Mig and Ward out, promote Grabara to third choice. Allison would be boss but I really like Karius so they can fight it out!

Probably, knowing JK. And he probably deserves it.

We’ve all been burnt by the Lovren’s and Mignolets and the extended opportunities they’ve had. Especially now VVD has come in and improved us immediately.

But it’s possible Karius could do a De Gea - but he certainly won’t if we bin him off now.

It already feels better than sticking with Mig.

I guess we just have to review in June.

LK has conceded the least goals in the CL so far this season. His nomination as number one keeper and the extended run in the team has improved his confidence. He appears to be more relaxed now that he isnt playing second fiddle to the mig. He has made some really important saves at critical times recently and as said by others his distribution is infinately better

I mentioned towards the start of the season that he was being given games in the Champions League (as it suited him better than the Premier League) with a view to him taking over permanently in January.

                      That's exactly what happened

                          yeah baby
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think we are sorted in the back 5 now as it's has come together since the arrival of VVD & Karius elevation to No.1 along with TAA & Robbo making their positions their own.
Karius will now save us millions in the transfer market by making the No.1 position his own & negating the need for another keeper with Ward & Grabara to come in as understudies.

One thing that I have been taught under Klopp is the need to have patience & belief in what Klopp is doing...too many people looking for the quick fix like the Scum/City/Chelsea models...Ya reap what ya sow & boy, am I liking what's happening at Anfield!!!!

                            YWNA!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Defence looks so much better now with Karius/VVD/Robertson that even Lovren has stepped up and is defo ahead of matip in the pecking order for CB.

Mig and Moreno just have too many brain farts in them.

Against Newcastle, the worldie save aside he did a few things that mignolet never does - he came and claimed a cross with confidence and wiped out one of our players and one of theres, and his starting position is so much better that he comes off his line/out of his area much quicker to deal with situations where as Mignolet seems to retreat back to the goal line.

At one point in the first half against Newcastle, we had a free kick or corner, can't remember which, and it was quite earlier in the game, still 0-0 - and I saw Karius running up to nearly the half way line....just a bit of burst to keep himself warm etc but I laughed, because whilst there was no danger, you'd never ever see Mignolet come out so far.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

If Karius continues in this manner, it will be interesting how Klopp decides to proceed in terms of bringing a goalkeeper in. If we do sign Alisson for example, how would that affect Karius?
