He can't stay at the club as his next mistake will be amplified 10 fold on the back of this and the fan base and inside the ground will turn quite poisonous against him if his next howler costs us as much as last night did. Time to get rid and buy a proven world class goalkeeper.

Not spending big on a goalkeeper has cost us the European cup.

We've been collectively backing him because we trust in Klopp. But really we've just been breathing sighs of relief when he didn't feck up like it was a sign of an improved keeper. We've all not really been convinced of his saves that would be parried into danger zones. Butland is poor too but rather the devil we don't know than the two devils we do.

We all said Ward at the start of the season, just like we said Robbo at LB. Klopp has his flaws like any human.
      One tit for another.

I feel gutted for the lad but that first mistake was really ****.

Mistakes do happen but 'we' didn't make them (the team), one person did.

And yes, there's no debate as to his quality, he isn't of sufficient quality for a team capable of winning the CL.
He is 24 and he has had the trust of the manager and his teammates. There is nothing to suggest he won't be good enough at a later stage in his career if he can overcome this.

As for last night, we all know who was at fault and there is nothing further to say on it. The manager will decide if there is a need to replace him or not.
          Are we winning?

Not holding on to a shot from 45yds out with clear sight all the way runs it a close 2nd to be honest

A lot of people said the same thing about Lovren.

The good thing is that's not possible, I don't see how it's possible to be more costly than that
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It does, but not as bad as placing the ball on the oppositions striker's boot who is stood directly in front of you - I have seen many goalkeeping errors and long shots go in that should have been saved but I've never seen anything quite like that first goal.

To sum up Karius blunder, my missus, who has no interest in football came into the room (was allowed in) at full time, saw the mistakes and asked, “why did he do that”?

                    I had no answer.

Because there is only one answer.

                    It’s because he is ****.

He has been hiding in plain sight for 6 months, he just chose the mother of all occasions to remind us.

Perfectly summed up - en route home and my Polish wife who also has no interest in football messaged to say you needed Dudek in goal!

Yup he's finished here. I think he needs to rebuild his career at a lower league club in Germany, close to family.

                      Or at Napoli..

personally for me, the single worse defeat to stomach in all my years following Liverpool. We really need to learn our lessons here, the players you suspect will let you down inevitably do, the best of the best of these type of players perhaps should be on the bench, the rest should be moved on like all of the other players we have not missed one second. I would say Lovren still falls into this category, a good cb for the bench

Klopp mentioned that Karius' head was gone after the first mistake, if that's the case should he have brought him off and put Mignolet on? It's rough taking off a keeper and it's a big call but if you think his head's gone and recognise that in the game, is it a call you should make? What are people's thoughts?

Did he actually say that? If so that's quite remarkable to keep him on.
