It is a massive call but if you're a manager that's what your job is about. If he thinks in the game that the guys head has gone then I think that you have to make the call, maybe he is saying that with hindsight I'm not sure.

Bit of a cliche to trot out the old maybe he does not impress in trining line, but possibly it is true and maybe Ward does worse that Karius and Mignolet in training.

To be honest if we are to get a new first team keeper this summer, I don't want to be gambling on whether or not a guy the same age as Karius, but who cannot get a sniff of game time, is the one to go with.

If we are to get a new keeper, then spend on someone who has shown his quality at first team level in a decent league.

I can understand the anger and frustration I felt it myself but the people wishing him dead and wishing stuff on his family are disgusting, no-one deserves that for mistakes made on a football pitch.

He looks really sad. His empathy for the players is great. Such a nice guy.

We got to the final with Karius playing every game so he's been part of the success. He's definitely added a better technical approash to our backline.

The guy is ridiculously young still and the CL final has came too quickly in his development imo. The real mistake here, is persisting with Mignolet for far too long and then thinking he would be good enough to be our no.1 (again!) this season.

Karius seemed to cope no better or worse than any keeper does until he made the second mistake. Amazed this is even a discussion.

Liverpool keeper Loris Karius says he is "infinitely sorry" after his two mistakes helped Real Madrid beat the Reds in the Champions League final.

The 24-year-old gifted Real striker Karim Benzema an easy goal for the opener in Kiev.

Karius later allowed a Gareth Bale shot to squirm in for Real's third as the Spanish club won 3-1.

"I know I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down," said a message from Karius on social media.

"Haven't really slept until now," he wrote the day after the match. "The scenes are still running through my head again and again.

"I'm infinitely sorry to my team-mates, for you fans, and for all the staff.

"I'd just like to turn back the time but that's not possible. It's even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time.

"Thank you to our unbelievable fans who came to Kiev and held my back, even after the game.

"I don't take that for granted and once again it showed me what a big family we are. Thank you and we will come back stronger."

You are forgiven Loris, but we can never forget and moving forward you simply are not at the level we require

Yeah. Guy must be gutted. No place to hide. Think he'll never be able to move on from that whilst here. He did well enough this season, but there were more indications he wasn't the keeper required than not during the season.

He'll always be 'that keeper' no matter where he goes.

Every little 'moment' will be followed swiftly in commentary by something relating to last night.

Probably time to pack it in and go full time fashion model.

They are howlers what he did and I don't want to take away from his responsibility which he will have to live with for the rest of his life but as I've said several times we never had a chance of winning with just one goal and we only scored one goal.

His howlers have taken a lot of scrutiny from the team/squad performance. We only scored one goal, that was never going to be enough to win.

If the game had finished 3-2 or 4-3 I'd be angry but with only one goal scored by us his howlers are less relevant IMO.

                              This doesn’t make any sense.

If you take Karius mistakes away it is 1-1. The performance was good until Salah went off, and second half we could t get momentum because of, guess what, the howlers..! We came back really well, within minutes of the first one which showed real character. Bales goal you can do nothing but admire, but even then we went close with Sadio hitting the post.

The second mistake ended the game.

Karius single handedly cost us any chance of the trophy - we were not as strong when Mo went off - but we certainly weren’t out of it.

I don't really get this. You win matches in your head as well as on the pitch and those howlers suck the life out of you.
