I highly doubt that. There were warning signs in previous games which we knew deep inside that it could cost us.

His punch versus City which resulted in a chalked out goal. The parry onto the post from Kolarov. The way he brought down Dzeko which was again chalked out due to offside. All of them were in isolation not that bad mistakes but when you look at it as a whole you see a not so good keeper. Good to great keepers don't make mistakes with such frequency.

I am respectful of the way he has handled it. But if any of us made such high profile mistakes in our jobs, we would be looking at new careers. He is 24 years old. I will be amazed if he develops the strong mentality needed to be an LFC keeper over a summer. Outside of the mentality, I also think he is not that good.

It would be criminal negligence on Klopp's and FSG's part to start with Karius next season. Do you think a goalkeeper with such performance in a final would be considered for a starting role next season at Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, United?

The one minor positive of the result is that it should highlight to FSG where our weaknesses are. We should stop feeling sorry for ourselves and do what it takes to address these issues.

Disagree, but I'll reply properly tomorrow (or Tuesday most likely).
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Good to see the lads showing him some love.

I have been critical of Karius the last 24 hours but I would like to reiterate that I really feel bad for him and I am furious at the scums who gave him threats on twitter.

I am also not 100% convinced whether my posts are pure emotions from the loss. Maybe by Tuesday, when things have subsided, I will be on your side in this debate

He can definitely recover and still have a good career, but I hope he gets some massive redemptive moment or season to help exorcise the hurt he’ll carry from last night, and hopefully soon.

I'll be bitchy. Dejan and Mane from yesterday's squad doesn't exactly sound like everyone behind him

Seriously who in the name of **** would pay actual money for Karius after that. We will look back on his career through the where are they now thread.

                          Henderson yesterday, and Van Dyck.

                          And Robbo.

Andrew Robertson insists no one at Liverpool is blaming Loris Karius for their Champions League final defeat.

The German goalkeeper made two huge errors as Real Madrid prevailed 3-1 in Kiev.

Karius was distraught at full time but Scotland defender Robertson insists the responsibility will be shared by the whole team.

"Of course he made mistakes," said Robertson. "But we are not blaming him. He will hold his hands up."

Karius allowed Real to take 1-0 and 3-1 leads, throwing the ball onto Karim Benzema for the opener and then allowing a Gareth Bale drive to slip through his fingers.

Bale also scored a spectacular overhead kick as the Spanish giants won the trophy for a third successive season.

"We win as a team, we lose as a team," added Robertson. "We fell short.

"Loz has been incredible since he go the number one jersey. He is young and he will learn from it. He will be a top keeper.

"There are no words that we can say that will make it better for him. We went around him. We all gave him a hug and tried to lift him."

Robertson was the first Scot to play in a Champions League final since Paul Lambert lifted the famous cup with Borussia Dortmund in 1997.

The left-back was prominent as an attacking outlet in the first half and made a terrific goal-saving challenge to deny Cristiano Ronaldo after the interval.

                          'Quite clever, isn't he?'

Liverpool lost top scorer Mo Salah to a shoulder injury before the break, following a tussle with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

The Spain centre-half appeared to hold on to the Egyptian star as the pair fell, prompting widespread online criticism.

Robertson did not go so far as to apportion blame, but said: "I think it is just how he (Salah) has landed but Ramos is quite clever, isn't he?

"We are clutching at straws if we are saying that. It's unfortunate. It just disrupted our rhythm a wee bit.

"He has done unbelievable this season and for it to end that way for him was devastating. I hope he goes to the World Cup because a nation is a relying on him.

"Hopefully he'll come back bigger and stronger."

Salah, who scored 44 goals for his club last season, has since indicated that he is "confident" of playing in the World Cup next month.

I think lots of clubs would be interested, let's say our asking price was £35m before the final, there will be clubs thinking they can get him for £25m now.

He's young, technically a very good keeper and as loads of people have said on twitter/in articles, he showed balls after the game, staying on the pitch, going to the fans etc, he could have ran for the dressing room.

I sympathise with the difficulty of his position but he wasn't and is not a better keeper than Mignolet.

He shouldn't have been number 1 this season. A new keeper better than both is required.

I had been impressed pre Roma tie by Allison but thought he looked a bit flaky against us. It's his style of keeper we need though. I'm definitely not impressed by Butland.
