That's the problem with something like this in seriousness though. There's bound to be a real risk of bias, even if only unconscious bias.

I don't actually recall anyone saying it wasn't possible tbh.

Not suggested as much. Mocked the idea he could have had a concussion, though, is exactly what plenty of fans have done and similar sorts of comment can be read here even if not as widespread as on ****ter etc.

No. Not mocked the idea that he could have had concussion, mocked the claim that he did and that it was the cause of his errors. It's not the same thing.

As you said yourself several posts up, they didn't actually say it was the cause of his errors.

I don't particularly seen the importance of the semantic distinction you're drawing, but in any case I think you're in danger of defending your personal position forgetting the post referred to 'the fan base' and there have been absolutely shed loads of comments from people guilty of ill informed nonsense just as the poster suggested.

With something as broad as a football fan base there will be nearly all conceivable positions taken and opinions expressed on pretty much anything. The difference above is quite significant imo, the difference between ignorance and skepticism/cynicism.

Well, quite possibly to some degree yes, but does that makes opinions unworthy of comment?! If you don't challenge certain things **** knows what wins in that marketplace of ideas.

Scepticism is expressing doubt, raising questions. Not outright disbelieving it, calling it bollocks etc. It's people saying as much that are rightly in the crosshairs as I see it.

Anyway this is all a bit meta isn't it? Opinions about having opinions on opinions? Karius should never have been first choice this season, shouldn't be next season, and neither the final nor whether he had concussion plays into that for me.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I actually found Kenneth and Red Polo's mini discussion quite interesting.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Hard to know where to mentally store and process this new information.

Nothing changes the fact we lost a CL final in the most bizarre fashion possible.

                              Modifying post.

"Concussion, also known as mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is typically defined as a head injury that temporarily affects brain functioning. Symptoms may include headaches, trouble with thinking, memory or concentration, nausea, blurry vision, sleep disturbances, or mood changes. Some symptoms may begin immediately, while others may appear days after the injury.

number and type of symptoms any one individual suffer varies widely.

                                Physical
Headaches are the most common mTBI symptom. Others include dizziness, vomiting, nausea, lack of motor coordination, difficulty balancing, or other problems with movement or sensation. Visual symptoms include light sensitivity, seeing bright lights, blurred vision, and double vision.Tinnitus, or a ringing in the ears, is also commonly reported."

Mock all you like but if he did have concussion, based on the above it would hard for him not to have been affected in some way by it.
