Was he prone to lapses in Germany?

I thought he was voted best up and coming goalie there or something but in hindsight it seems improbable.

He was good in Germany and the season before we got him he was voted second best senior keeper in the Bundesliga after Neuer.

He is not a bad keeper, certainly not muck like Pickford for example, he just did not push on from the promise he showed. Before the nightmare against Real he was actually on a decent run for of form for us, not top class form or anything like that but solid.

Problem for him now is that at 25 his level has turned out to be that of an average EPL keeper and we now have a world class keeper between the sticks.

Do think he could rebuild his name back in Germany and have a good if unspectacular career.

Think Klopp will offer him to stay with us as a number two? Mignolet wont stay as a back up for long.

Mignolet will be gone in the summer, which means we need to bring in a back up keeper. It sounds like Besiktas might not want him for the 2nd year of the loan, not sure it will be cancelled or not, but I don't see him coming back here and being involved (even as no 2). I think if he comes back it will purely be because no one else wants him (in a Markovic type situation)
