[PL] v Burnley (A): Build Up

    DATE: Saturday, 20 August 2016
    VENUE: Turf Moor
    KICK OFF: 1500 BST
    TV:

Need to make it 6 from 6 on Saturday, or that great win yesterday will count for nothing.

Expect Can to come back in, most likely for Wijnaldum, but possibly Henderson. Only other change I can see is Milner for Moreno if fit.

From MOTD, Swansea looked pretty comfortable against Burnley and that was without their 3 best players from last year. They had 9 shots on target against them, so if Burnley play like that against us we really should be hammering them.

    Roll on Saturday.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

This will be a harder game I suspect.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

That rug really tied the room together.

How to break an 11 man defence. 12 considering the ref. Surely can't play Couts, Firmy and Lallana in the same team. They work well against bigger teams but are way too predictable together otherwise.

For me Origi has to start ahead of Lallana. Maybe also play Grujic for the extra goal/header threat instead of Wijnaldum.
                One tit for another.

Height is a good call - should have all the tall players on, Matip is handy for a header

So you're suggesting keeping Wijnaldum too and dropping Firmino?

Maybe that might happen but for Coutinho instead if he doesn't recover. We certainly don't need to rush him back for all the talent we've actually got on the bench.

                        Haha, surely not again?

So since your last protest, we have put 4 away against Barcelona and Arsenal to add to the matches last year when we scored 3 or more against Villareal, Everton, Dortmund, City and Chelsea with them playing together. Now bearing in mind that Klopp hasn’t been here that long, that Coutinho and Firmino were both injured for periods last year and Coutinho barely played in the league for the last 2 months, I’m wondering how many matches the 3 even played together.

Don’t need to know how many they all played together, I’ll just be content to find out who all these lesser teams were that we continually struggled to break down as I’m sure there must be quite a few?

We won't struggle to break them down. I'm more worried about us conceding.
                          Are we winning?

Flanagan can’t play for them, this match will hopefully be too soon for Defour, so their only new signing available is Gudmundsson, signed from Charlton. Essentially we are playing a Championship side, so even if we do concede we should reasonably expect to hit back with 3 or 4.

They did have a good pre-season though, which is why the Swansea result was a bit of a shock.
