Yeah, you don't catch that (thankfully).

Wish I had the energy to reply some posts.

Only thing I'll say at the minute, Mods, if you ever see me start a build up thread again, delete it. I'm a scuddy ****er and we we lose more often than not when I start them.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think we were unlucky in a way that none of our players turned up. At arsenal Coutinho and mane were outstanding with lallana and firmino having decent games. Against Burnley, Coutinho, firmino, Sturridge, lallana and wijnaldum all played terribly.

We only need a couple of our players to turn in good performances and we beat Burnley comfortably.

I've said before the problem with so many of our attacking players Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge and Lallana is they are so inconsistent it's rare that they all have good games at the same time, it's far more likely that they all have average/poor games at the same time.
Taking Coutinho as an example he is capable of having some fantastic 10 out of 10 performances, but when he doesn't have a good game he is ineffective and resorts to some fairly aimless shooting from 30 yards which just fly high and wide.

I don't think we can live with so many players that either give 9 or 10 out of 10 or 4 out of 10. I sounds crazy but if those players can't get consistency I think we would (on average) be better off if we had one or two of the attacking players that were 'just' 7 or 8 out of 10 players every week.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This what I was referring to, moreso with Coutinho and Firmino. They both have isolated moments of brilliance, and their stats last season reflect that, but they both are inconsistent in terms of being involved on a regular basis throughout games. This is what I meant when saying they have to make the next step up. Unfortunately, stats rule, and isolated moments of brilliance influence a lot of judgments. It's not just those two players. As you say, Lallana and Sturridge are very similar in that respect too.

I know we disagreed on the dismantling of the squad, as I believe you were in favour of adjustments, and I was in favour of wholesale changes. Time will tell if Burnley was one of those freak horrendous days at the office, or part of a repeated pattern of isolated moments of team brilliance, followed by frequent stink bombs.
