I don't think either of those sides are outstanding and would certainly expect 1 win from those two alone, plus one win from Burnley.

Arsenal and Spurs are hardly Real Madrid or Barca

If you apply that logic across the season you seem to be expecting us to approach the record points total.

Arsenal and Spurs finished 2nd and 3rd in the league, so the are competitively Real Madrid and Athletico.

We've got Barca next up at Anfield.

It would put us in line for decent top 4 finish, which is what I expect with no european football.

Not if you're only expecting us to fail to win in half of the away fixtures against the top teams in the league.

Unless you expect us to do worse then that against poorer teams, or at home.

But Barca, Athletico and Real don't play in the EPL. So the comparison is that we've had good away results with top 4 teams from last season. Results that every team in the league would be happy with.

If you want to be all doom and gloom about it though, well I'm not going to stop you.

You're just choosing to interpret my post in your own specific way. The way I see it, 5 or 6 points from every 9 is perfectly acceptable and would put us in with a line with a decent finish.

I really don't rate Arsenal or Spurs as highly as some people seem too. We can beat anyone on our day, so why everyone seems to think we should be coming away from The Emirates and WHL with 1 or 2 points baffles me. We definitely shouldn't be losing to Burnely, but it happens, hence my 5-6 points from every 3 games. You need to maintain that form to finish where we want to.

But we've got 4 points. So point one off a top 4 form by your criteria (even though you don't allow the standing of the teams played in the league to be mitigating).

How can you be happy to let the Burnley result go as an 'it happens' result, but not be happy with our Arsenal or Spurs results?

Klopp doesn't yet realise what it takes to win this league. Took Rafa 2/3 seasons. All we need this year is top 4 - I believe we can do that. YNWA

Jesus, you can't even be critical on this site without people getting pissy. Look at the reaction to me simply expect a point more from the opening 3 games.

I'm not being "all doom and gloom", I just think there's room for improvement on our win rate. Neither Arsenal or Spurs are that great, just a reflection of how poor the league was last season. Could you see Real Madrid struggling to beat us every season like Spurs do?

Half the people on here make out we're bloody brilliant every game, yet the same people expect us not to win a single game away against these two sides.

I don't think I've seen a single post saying we were bloody brilliant. Everyone is saying the points return is solid, could be better.

If the difference in this is 1 point after three games then it's not really worth the effort falling out about?

Thank **** - I'm a bit hungover and trying to make sense of your logic is hurting my head.
