Sturridge looked rusty & slow today. I'd like to see him & Origi play together in the next cup match if possible. They both need games.

We won and that's all that matters in the end but there were some worrying signs - Karius being one of them. Another thing that annoyed me was our poor game management after we scored - Origi and Sturridge guilty of not holding up the ball or going to the corner to waste time. Origi in particular looks rusty and way off what he was last year but he needs games I guess.

I'm a massive Sturridge fan but sometimes he just does not seem to 'fit' with the rest of the team, I don't what it is but he sometimes he slows down the play with too many touches. We did miss Lallana after he went off.

Our CBs were more bothered than they have been for a while, we gave up a lot of headed chances and on another day we would have paid. But we didn't and the 3 points are in the bag and I bet we will be well up for the United game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Origi play for the 23's to get some game time like we've been doing with Ings.

Meh. Why change a winning team to accommodate underperforming fringe players?

I'm glad you're not the manager.
            Oh I don't know.

Because we may need said underperforming fringe players to rescue us at some point?

Right, but with so few games this season, experimentation is not so necessary.

Why would you think I'd be your wife?

Origi looks massive! I'm surprised he didn't hare it and stretch his legs.

I thought we were **** today and could easily have lost. They should have scored at least one other and we got a lucky penalty. We dominated for a good period but even then some of our decision making and technique was poor.

Terrible game management at the the end was disappointing too. Origi and Sturridge. Keep the ball for ****s sake. Mentality not great. Unprofessional.

Individual credit to Firmino and Mane who won us the game.

I think it's great that we took 3 points on a bad day. That's huge progress.

Today/yesterday was definitely a sign of significant progress. No team will impress in every game. Winning matches like we did today is a positive sign that we're improving mentally.

It's not experimentation it's using the squad. We're not talking about some 16-18 yr old no name here. It's 2 internationals who look rusty & in need of a run out to find some form/ confidence.

Gutsy win. Coutinho looked great in the second half, I like him playing deep like that. Bit of luck finally goes for us.

Got to say Sturridge looked absolutely ****. He looks like he's getting slower if anything....and his touch was rubbish. Ings surely offers us more. Whats the poor lad have to do to get a game??

Agree that great we found ways to score - whereas burnley we couldn't. But only because Firmino was terrific. On another day he's not playing and we lose.

We caused ourselves the same problems again and that is disappointing. When will we stop gifting free goals and gilt edged chances - that were harder to miss than score.

I think you're being way too harsh. We didn't start well but some credit needs to be given to the work rate of Swansea and how they closed us down.

We're not going to blow every side away, it just doesn't happen that way the fact we managed to regroup and grab 3 points is fantastic & to challenge for a league you've got grab these sorts of points when you're playing to your best.
