When Rafa joined us, then LFC were able to attract some of the best young players. Alonso, Agger, mascherano, Torres were all coveted but we were able to promise them a platform to improve.

For me, we need to do this again. Go and get the best young players before a superclub goes and picks them up. If we sign Southampton's best, then the best we can become is ****in Southampton. For me, we need to match the likes of city, Chelsea etc in terms of offer and wages but with the added bonus of that fact that we are likely to give more game time.

I think the club are trying to do that. Remember, we had Champions League football when Rafa first came, and we qualified for it on a regular basis under him. There was less competition too. We now have Man City and Spurs to consider.

Two players challenging the keeper unchallenged from a second ball on a corner and a one on one from a 40 punt down the centre of the pitch, that's how we conceded today. We are losing mainly because we can't defend for ****. Having two actual defenders on the pitch can't help.

I agree our defending is terrible but, the corner the thing about having just 2 defenders on the pitch is something that has been mentioned alot, if we'd swapped Milner for Moreno we would have had 3 defenders on the pitch but I very much doubt our defending would have been any better.

I know he has only just come back from injury but I would have gone with Gomez instead of Lucas at CB if we are going to continue to play the way we are doing we are going to be susceptible on the break a pacey CB could at least help us to negate that threat somewhat, and Gomez is much quicker than Lucas.

nah i dont think we are to be honest. I think it is rare when we go for a player that a chelsea or city would go for.

The game has long since got past the stage whereby we can pick up players of that calibre unchallenged. We're not matching the clout of two of the most cash rich clubs in the world
