True.....FWIW, it's not like we're talking an incident in the 6yd box. Would like to see more instances of attackers getting the benefit of the doubt in situations like that...half-way line etc
It's not like Arsenal were intentionally trying to play him off and it's no more than his head, and perhaps, shoulders in the off position by a few inches, so while some may want to get bogged down in technicalities (some Arse fans), it worked in our favour this time.

been saying this for a while now. Clyne on paper has a high chances created stat (as one of my mates posted on whatsapp) but the reality of it is that although he has a brilliant engine and gets into great forward positions.... his delivery more often than not lets him down. Very frustrating but I imagine that Clyne has never been asked to do this much forward work in his whole career. Unfortunately it's just not his game and considering our fullbacks are our width and the other side Milner has to keep checking back inside .. it really does put a bit of a spanner in the works

Very good defender that needs desperately to work on his delivery. Agree on Bellerin he's class, don't think he'll be at Arsenal long term.

Our players clicked again today and I loved Can's dirty play (stuck a leg out and smiled!), we've been missing that in our team, we're too nice.
The Big issue for me re:Goalkeeper is our defence...if it was settled and the same players in defence over a period of several months then i think the Gk would be more setttled and less prone to errors and same applies to the defence it all breeds stability and confidence.

Not a big fan of Clyne for the reasons above, Not just the delivery but he just seems to not have a clue once he gets in the final third....Although he did have a good game at the weekend!

One thing that I didn't like is even at 2-1 we still had both of our full backs bombing forward. I wish we would learn to be more conservative in situations like this
Agreed but against Arsenal I'd rather keep taking the game to them. They are the sort of team who will find a way through.

OK, so it's Burnley next weekend, at home.

I think we should shut up shop, just park the bus and drop our defence 20 yards. Don't give them any space at all and hopefully we can catch them on the counter.

That would be funny, to play five at the back and hoof the ball to origi and Mane to kill them with pace. Give these cunting teams a taste of their own medicine.

We could do with a plan B, everyone expects us to try and walk it into the net with one-twos, having a more direct style would suit.

I thought Origi looked sharp when he came on. Its amazing to recall it was only last season that he was leading the line against Dortmund and Man U in big European games. He's barely had a look in this season.

Exactly, not like Plan A is doing anything for us

He's a good defender but in Klopp's system he needs to be more than that. In fact, he is absolutely vital to our attacking game & he struggles massively when in oppositions half.

I'd be happy if clyne could stop hitting the defender in front of him 9 times out of 10 when crossing.

I thought we played well, high pressing tempo which means our passing is crisper and more penetrative

Thoroughly deserved the win. We really have to make it count against Burnley now but I must say I am nervous because I can see us screwing up again

                              So would the defender

How many times have we all said that this season.

It's all so predictable it's tempting to become a gambler. I'm not even sure it would qualify as gambling.

I'm just as certain we will lose against Burnley as I was that we would convincingly beat Arsenal.
