                Remember the season that began with Nicol on an insane goal scoring run from fullback. I'm sure he scored in something like 4 games in a row including a hat-trick.

                            Yep to me hes the best fullback we have had by a long long way

                            Not only good going forward but excellent defender also

                            Thats the problem as I see it with many of the other suggestions, Riise was an appalling defender, Carragher never got forward enough

                            One other name that deserves an honorable mention is Markus Babbel as I thought for until he became ill he was an superb fullback

                            Our rightbacks have been traditionally better players than our leftbacks, but I would have Nicol as our best but because of his level of versatility I'd play Neal on the right and switch Nicol to the left because hes still better than any of the others that played on the left
