Why spend £100m on another Belgian striker?

I am not suggesting we buy Lukaku. I just used him and Kane as examples of guys who clean up against the non top six teams.

What I was saying is that we lack a few guys who fill their boots on a regular basis against the lower placed teams and would love to see us get some. Easier said than done of course.

Origi has done alright against that sort of team, but he has not been used as often as I would have liked. Maybe he gets that chance for the rest of the season.

I know that we are the top scorers in the league so it's a strange thing to say but we need a proper out and out goalscorer - someone wyho can get goals week in week out. It's great that we have shared the goals around and now have players capable of chipping in - 7 players with 5 or more goals is good but you never feel that a particular player is going to score like we've had before with Suarez, Torres, Owen, Fowler etc. The players who if you just created a couple of chances for them they would almost certainly score one.

I think that the team is mentally weak and lacking in leadership or an experienced head who can tell people what to do.

The tactics are different against the lesser sides perhaps because of how they play as much as how we play but I feel that we really need to up the pressure in these games when we are level or behind, far too often we let team out from under pressure by playing slowly from the back.

At times we struggle being in the game and creating chances in these games, last night I don't think that we had that problem up until the Coutinho change. Obviously Coutinho had to come off but I'm not sure that bringing Matip off was the right thing to do, or if he wanted to do that he had to balance that by making another change, because almost immediately we went from being in control to handing the momentum over to Bournemouth.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I reckon in the summer we will pick up a striker in this mould. Klopp will have identified that.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I would love a striker like that, yes even Lukaku, but to attract them we desperately need top four. These kind of strikers are definitely out there but they have grander plans.

Would love to see us go after someone like Lacazette or Belotti. Thy would be expensive but not as expensive as the proven top tier.

Both are fast and mobile and like to roam in order to find space. Both can play as a lone striker and both are even better when working with pace or players who have the ability to move the ball quickly into space.

Lacazette would be the more refined of the two in terms of style of play, but he has the ability to be the tip end of service as well as the ability to create for himself. Could see him and the likes of Coutinho meshing in a manner akin to how Lacazette and Fekir work toegther for Lyon.

Belotti to me is a more physical player with a workrate that would remind me of Kuyt or a fresh Firmino. Actually if how he is playing this season is anything to go by, in the centre forward role he looks like a stronger more aggressive Firmino but with a much more clinical side to his finishing.

Lacazette is easily the stand-out striker choice for me. He looks an ideal fit for us. I just can't see us pulling it off though. Our only hope is Champions League and the lure of Klopp.

He does look like he has a bit of everything in his game, and certainly knows how to finish in front of goal.

Granted he has only played in a weaker league, but what I do like is that during that time he has played in Lyon teams that were well rounded units and a Lyon team that was horribly disjointed and he still finishes seasons with good goal tallies.

Another thing that I like about him is that he is not an assist merchant, if he thinks he can score then that is what he goes for. Seems to be very single minded in that regard. I like a greedy striker when they have the talent to back it up, and he does seem to have the talent.

Frankly I don't think players give a crap about who the manager is nowadays. If Pep was managing Everton no top player would go there. Badly need CL football. Lacazette is so right for us it hurts even now thinking about why we spent that money on Benteke. Would have saved Rodgers his job for sure.

I disagree. I think he still has a bit of pull. Look at his relationship with De Bruyne and David Silva the other week. All the players love him. I think it holds some sway, although admittedly not nearly as much as CL, and more imporantly, money.
