copied from the firmino thread, needs to be in here...

    Quote:
If Firmino led Liverpool’s surge here, Sterling was a key part in City’s stumbling start. Frankly, he had a nightmare. Sterling left the pitch with 25 minutes to go, roared off to a standing anti‑ovation by the home crowd after one of those performances where no matter how hard you try, how furiously you work to put things right, they just keep slipping away, the bobble off the shin, the muffed dribbles, the inevitable booking.
As he brushes his teeth this evening Sterling will no doubt find himself taking a sneaky look up in the mirror just to check that shape lurking by the bathroom door is not Andrew Robertson steaming out of the airing cupboard to make another sniping, raking challenge at his heels.

I watched his first game at home for us with a fellow Est'er

Instantly liked him and thought then he should be our regular leftback

Positionally hes spot on, his cover play and recovery is also exceptional

I know people were quite critical of his delivery and attacking play but I didnt think that was a problem. To me from the get-go he got forward intelligently, ran into the right spaces (AT THE RGIHT TIME) and his delivery was good. Some of the balls he put in on his debut were excellent, we just didnt have anyone attacking them they werent punted into the box either they were on the floor into areas that are really dangerous

To me hes got better with each game

For me its a no brainer that he continues ahead of Moreno

Whatever did you think of his two defensive mistakes yesterday?

Didn't he misjudge the flight of a ball which landed on Gundogan?

I didn't see these as mistakes from Robertson either.

One went right over Lovrens head. Robertson predicted a lot yesterday but that would have taken a crystal ball.

The other one, was a breaking ball, and he still almost made a covering block.

He was brilliant but I thought his attempts to stop the last two city goals were a bit disparate to his overall all-action style.

Me either, and I'm not dripping in Scotch bias
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Yeah, I'm not going to be the best for a rounded and unbiased view in this thread.

I was nearly tearing up when the Kop began to chant his name.
