Thanjk you.

What's the obsession on here with 3 at the back? I keep hearing people say time and time again we should play it or buy players to suit it.
At least with the DM or the 'proper no 9' argument, I could see the logic, even if I disagreed. But changing the formation that we've had so much success with since Klopp joined, I just don't understand, particularly right now when we are in such good form.
I could well be wrong, especially as I don't watch much (any) European football these days, but 3 at the back always seems to have a pretty short shelf life. Teams do seem to have some success with it and in recent times it's proven pretty popular, but it always seems to get found out sooner or later.
for me its all about making better use of the attributes our players have and using a system to get the best out of them.
i think three at the back would allow us to still keep a fairly solid back line, but then allow us to utilize taa and robbo as rampaging fullbacks, allow better support to our wingers when attacking, and a more solid defensive unit when defending. this would mean mane and salah dont need to drop back so much when we are defending so we are better placed to counter, also means other teams full backs less likely to over commit and pressure us, although this does suit us sometimes but very few tewms will come to attack us.
the back three can spread and cover the diagonal long ball, the central guy [Virge] will come 10yds further out and be better placed to intercept the long ball, almost playing like a DM.
we would still have a midfield three so out centre isnt too soft, and our front three are then much better supported.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Ahh, so we would play 12 players then, that's where the advantage is.
In all seriousness though, there are a lot of hypotheticals and assumptions in your theory. As it stands, we are a team capable of beating anybody on our day, yet there is plenty of room for improvement. Adding VVD for one has made a massive difference and he's only one player. We have a winning formula that just needs a few more spices, so I just don't understand why you would want to make such drastic changes, especially to make room for an extra CB.
It also doesn't help that bar the Palace match, our short experiments with 3 at the back under Klopp hasn't worked out too well. D
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

its the klopp effect
having robbo, taa, mane bobby and salah on the pitch is does seem like we have 12 on the pitch.

Hope it is in front of the Kop and I hope it means something. It will take the roof off
I think our improved fullbacks have been fundamental to our overall improvement. Compare the performances of Robbo and TAA to Walker (had a shocker) and Laporte. £8m combined v almost £100m.
Excellent again last night. Over the course of the two legs, think our two FB's were probably our best players. For someone who's weakness was defending apparently, he's been almost flawless for us. His positioning and decision making is very impressive.
If he avoids the LFC injury curse for FB's, he's going to be a legend here.

Winning goal in the CL final would be nice
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness
Probably one of his least effective performances last night was under pressure big time first half. Rallied second half as the entire team seemed to grow into the game, and slowly take it away from City. So a seasons low 7/10 for Robbo last night.
Must be a while since a Scotsman was about to grace the semi finals of the CL
