Some defending from Robbo late in the game.

He still offers something going forward but is clearly a problem at the back and has been for some time.

What does he now offer going forward?

He just gets worse and worse everytime I watch him play. Not only does he not offer much going forward like he used to, he is a real liability defensively and is making several big mistakes in every game. It's a real shame it has come to this but we desperately need a new lb.

Irrespective if we win the league or not this coming summer will be huge for us.

We need a new LB and striker.....and possibly RB, CB and Mo replacement.

Agreed in order of priority based on what we know today:

            1. Left Back
            2. Striker
            3. Defensive midfielder
            4. Center Back

The biggest hole is left back. We do not have a functional left back right now that would start in a top 10 EPL team.

Hopefully we keep both Virgil and Salah. And Trent too.

I agree that it is a big summer for lfc and also agree that we need a left back, a central defender and probably a right back too if Trent leaves.

We also do need a midfielder. Was hoping that Bajcetic would have had a good season on loan and could possibly come back and be a squad player but not sure that is likely now to be honest. That Gonzalez fella that City plumped for looks brilliant.

I also agree that we need a forward. I hope to **** we keep Salah but imo we need a new #9 and I wouldn't be shocked if someone like Diaz also left. He is good but will want a bump up in his wages and I just wonder would we cash in if the right offer was made. Put it this way, if we could replace him with Nico Williams for the same money, that'd be a good deal imo.

So yes it is a big summer for us but it is also apparent that we can improve on our current team and squad which is great

Left Back is absolutely our highest priority imo, we simply don't have one.
Nunez has to go and Nota stays injured, so that's number 2 for me.
We have one defensive midfielder who is just learning the role, so we need some depth there.

FSG don't spend, if I'm to guess and based on info they put out there, they take money out for themselves first before spending.

Yep. I'd like to see the list of the 10 teams with a better left back than him in them.

Obviously his game has dropped a bit due to getting older but I feel the tactics are different now. He's obviously being told not to bomb forward and to tuck in more. Neither him or trent operate up and down like they used to. Look at Bradley, last year a fearless marauding right back full of energy and vigor. Now he gets forward sparingly and resorts to sideways passes. Slot doesn't want them powering forward constantly. It's working results wise but I think Robbo and Bradley are suffering a little. Trent is different as his game went more central last year. He does his own thing.

Yeah agreed. Tactically his job is very different and he is clearly not forcing it as much as he used to with ball retention being a priority hence the ball being passed around more at the back.

His form has dipped last two games but he was really good in the 3-4 before them. I almost wanted to call it out (the good form) but ultimately couldn’t be arsed. Calls of horrific etc a pretty wide of the mark imo - we’ve the second best defensive record in the league for one.

That said, I think he is due a proper challenge - Tsmikas is decent but not under the same level of online scrutiny and didn’t play well when he came on in the derby. And I’m sure it will be a position we strengthen in.

Defensively his form has dropped off a cliff but his attacking ability glossed it over somewhat but that’s non existent now too. Definitely time to upgrade

Nah he played well the games prior to that. Overall his game isn’t where it was but he’s still been decent. There’s always one player the internet gets after, take your agenda driven glasses off.

There’s nothing I’ve said that’s not reasonable- I agree that a starting LB is a priority signing and that Robbo could well be backup next season.

                              It’s Scottish not Scotch btw
