In fairness that first bit isn't true and is a reaction to good displays in recent games. The truth is that his performances dropped off a cliff for a long time, the best part of 18 months or so. They didn't drop off slightly and it didn't look like a dip in form, as it went on for so long. He's had a few good games and it's great to see as Kerkez had looked pretty poor but it's too early to say he's back!! Whether or not it's a bubble or a reaction to LFC bringing Kerkez in has upped his game.... we'll take it. Hopefully the latter, as if we can get him playing consistently like this, he will be a huge asset for us and a good mentor for Kerkez to learn (If he can that is, I'm skeptical but he's still young ).

Disagree about the ‘form fell off a cliff’ that’s the sort of sensationalist rhetoric I’m referring to. If your form falls of a cliff you don’t get near a starting XI.

His consistency dropped for sure, and there were errors. The result of this was Tsmikas getting a decent amount of game time last season as they almost shared the position - Robbo still played the majority of the big games and we did well in those.

You don’t play 33 out of 38 League games for the team who won the league with a solid defensive record if your form is that bad.

Anyway, there’d be no debate online if people presented balance - there’s only ever great or ****ing ****.

FWIW and I went to both Scotland games in the last international window and didn’t think he played great in them. Average, not great so ultimately I too have been surprised by his resurgence I suspect spurred on by the form of the team and his realisation he’s still good enough to win back the shirt.

It's only sensationalist if you had the blinkers on & you kinda are a wee bit biased when it comes to Robbo if we are being honest. His standards did in fact drop off a cliff since the 22/23 season both defensively with mistakes that directly/indirectly caused goals/big chances & offensively when it seemed his legs were going, his delivery suffered from open play & corners and therefore his assists & quality balls into the box dramatically decreased. For whatever reason, overplayed/tactical change/form/injury of whatever reasons you want to go with, he has been a shadow of the player we have been used to the last 2 seasons. Mate i'm more than happy to jump on the Robbo is back train if he is still playing like this in 10 games time, wee bit early at the moment imo but delighted to see top level performances from him again. I'm praying he is back as Kerkez looks miles off what we need at LB.

As regards the bolded bit, tell that to multiple league, cup and European cup winner John O Shea.

I’m honestly not blinded by bias, I call it the way I see it, and try to let someone else lead the Robbo debate (which a few have positively) but appreciate that’s what most will think. I 100% thought Robbo would be backing up Kerkez this season but that doesn’t seem to be the way it is (at least currently) playing out.

The form in the last few games at least indicates that keeping him was a smart move and that he has a bit more gas in the tank with regards to his Liverpool career.

that's absolutely fair enough, we'll have to agree to disagree. If Robbo continues to play as is, no chance Kerkez is and should be getting in ahead of him. Lets hope he can get back to near his best, it'll be huge for us & I'll be first to jump in here on the Robbo bandwagon.

Robbo should start for the time being until Kerkez is ready. Kind of like how Klopp introduced Robbo into the team all those years ago.

We need to manage his time. He has had a couple of good games, but he usnt tbe player he once was. I yhink burnout hasnt helped, but if we keep him fresh we can squeeze a few more great performances.

And I think that further highlights just how much Jota's passing is still front and centre a lot of the time for many of our players this season. They are, imo, still processing it and still between the stages of mourning Jota and celebrating Jota.

I imagine the club has helped with things like counselling and so on, but at the same time it is only four months or so since those players lost a close friend so no doubt for every number of good days they have, there will be a day when something triggers a memory or whatever.

Difficult too that their place of work cannot be an escape like it might be for folk in more regular jobs. They see their friend all over the training ground and in the stadium and then Jota's song sung at the same time in every game.

Said it in other threads, but think the grieving process for a number of players has got to have been stalled or slowed due to there being less time away from reminders of the tragedy.

Unfortunately grieving is not something you can easily move on from in either a personal or professional life and takes time to process and accept, I'm sure the club is providing all the support they can.

Dispite the help grief has a way hitting you when least expecting and then consumming your thoughts.

Goes to show how a memory or an association can have everything come flooding back and leave you floored all over again.

There'll be countless examples of things like this among Diogo's teammates which may leave them similarly effected as Robbo here. Majority of the time we'll never know who, what or when.

But there's no doubt that players throughout the squad will have had similar days and will continue to do so.

As much as we're aware of the tragedy, we're still largely unaware of how and when the players are effected by it.

Surely he will look to leave at the end of the season. Will be a good free transfer for some team. People say he will go to Celtic but I am not too sure about that.....would be too good for that league in my opinion. A team like Brighton or even better than that like Villa would be handy.
