I was wondering that too. Jones had the easy pass to Fabinho when closed down by Silva but decided against it to show Silva he was nothing but a short inconsequential ****. That took Silva by surprise and ate into his energy reserves.

Then the ball was at Salah's feet and you could see how rubbish Foden is defensively. Silva trying to do all the donkey work again but falling on his arse. Jones was our Gundogan.

The club's media team are always ITK on these things once they're happening though. Would be hard for them to prepare announcement videos, signing contract pictures, interviews, etc otherwise

And most of these contract announcements are done weeks and weeks after the contract was actually signed.

The way Klopp spoke about him glowingly after the game did make me think there was more in it, but maybe it's just wishful thinking

Yep, the contract renewals content we saw over the summer for Virgil, Trent, Alisson, etc were clearly done well in advance of the news being released.

The Mo stuff is probably just a reaction to his performance, but thought there could be a slight possibility this might be some sort of teaser build up.
