It is like the discipline and shape has gone on that side. It is great having players roam when a team is fluid and getting results but when you are regularly getting punished for it you need to concentrate on getting the basics right. It was obvious that side would be targeted, teams actively target Trent 1)Because he plays so high 2)Well because he just not a good defender. Over the last few years he had had Henderson and Gini doing all the donkey work covering the spaces and helping him out. Gini is gone and Henderson is way off what he once was. Elliot has done well but cannot do that defensive mopping up that the others could do. I would like to see him benched to see the reaction of Mo. It's hard to say but I do wonder is he hampering Mo's game. Making the runs and occupying the same spaces?

The whole right side is a giant mess, and it needs be be changed up. Personally I'd like to see us drop Elliot and Trent and see how Mo gets on. Watch Wolves target that side again with Netos pace. I think if they are smart they will start Traore aswell as he usually gives us trouble, it's the one fixture a season when he turns up.

Agree with that. Plus we have lost the consistency on the left as we rebuild there without Mane. So it is a team in transition with injuries and form loss thrown in.

By the standards of mere mortals his goal/assist return is good so far in the league.

7 games - 2 goals and 3 assists or a goal involvement every 126 minutes if you like.

Puts him on course, if the same return continued of course before pedants bore us, for a league season ending in roughly 11 goals and 16 assists.

A brilliant season for any wide attacker not called Mo Salah.


Hopefully he gets back to being the Mo we know, and poops on the idea of him finishing the season on 11 league goals.

Spoke to a Red fan neighbour earlier. He's very level headed and reckons that the contract negotiations over the summer were pretty toxic and Salah has caused a rift in the squad. Interesting take on things, not sure if there's any truth in it though
