Salah can run or shoot now, but like Nunez he seems to be creating a lot for others. Problem is thats Gakpos job too and Jota is out injured again. Diaz needs to step up as the fox in a box.
I do wonder how we see Salah's future.
He plays crap in comparison to the past, but still makes telling contributions.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I think Mo is having an excellent season and his biggest crime is that he's no longer the jet heeled winger we signed when he was in his 20's. He's playing a different role now, more of an inside right playmaker and playing it superbly. Because he's lost the ability to run at defenders like he used to, people are holding that against him and claiming he past it. His game has evolved, people need to accept it.
That being said, he's been poor by his own standards recently, but he's not alone there.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
Thought it might aid discussion to actually consider the details of those goals.
Bournemouth (H) - second goal in 3-1 win
Villa (H) - third goal in 3-0 win
Lask (A) - third goal in 3-1 win
West Ham (H) - penalty in 3-1 win.
Brighton (A) - goal and penalty in 2-2 draw.
Everton (H) - penalty and injury time goals in 2-0 win.
Toulouse(H) - fifth goal in 5-0 win.
Nottingham (H) - third goal in 3-0 win.
Brentford (H) - first two goals in 3-0 win.
Lask (A) - penalty, third goal in 4-0 win.
Of the 13 goals, 4 have been penalties. Most came at home, most against poor sides, and half were second half goals where we were already ahead with the opposition chasing the game.
My interpretation of the above is that 2023 salah is more flat track bully than game changing goal scorer.
Crucial equaliser against Fulham
Equaliser against our biggest rivals City
Equaliser and 2nd goal in Wolves 3-1
Injury time winner in potentially season defining 2-1 win against Newcastle
Assisted only goal against Chelsea in 1-1
Not bad.

If you ignore his assists, which are pivotal - which goals did they affect? According to thew above stat he is the most productive in terms of chances created player in Europe.
Even allowing for that there are still some clutch goals in the sample provided. He may not be peak Salah, but his contribtiuon levels are among the highest in Europe.

And dare I say he'd have a few more if Nunez was a better finisher.
Including that headed assist at Luton, laid it on a feckin plate for him
He is genuinely one of the best players to play for Liverpool. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 39 years (I’m 47) and I come on this forum and see people spouting absolute ****e!
