Was absolute wank last night.
Fullback had him in his pocket all game. Ball bouncing off him constantly, couldn't trap simple passes, running the ball out for goal kicks trying to be clever, doing his usual signature move of running straight into the fullback giving them possession for a quick counter attack and his passing was atrocious.

I wonder how they’d go as a front two. It would need a change to a 4231 type formation but it would be interesting to see especially with Salah being less about his pace and dribbling and more about passing. Yeah, he cant run past players really. Not sure we can easily just adapt the formation with the inverse fullback too, but I definitely think he would be more effective centrally. I’m not sold on the inverted fullback and would prefer Trent going back to his usual role, don’t really know if the idea of him playing wide in attack would work as his best work comes from that space coming from deeper and the areas he can cross from.
With the midfield we have now there are goals and creativity way beyond what we’ve had before. I’d like to see how the midfield function without the change. Think we’d see even more from them all and a better balance all round.Comment
