I know which Salah I’d prefer in the team, and it’s not the unblossomed specimen to the left.

    Hello mert.

There’s a real conflict now with Mo. On one hand, he’s one of the best players in the world and we simply must keep him.

On the other hand, he’s one of the best players in the world and as such, could command £400k per week. Do LFC just pay him whatever he wants and risk alienating others & smashing the wage structure to pieces? If Mo gets that sort of wage, some others will warrant similar & then we’ll be hearing about Mo, Virgil & Robbo’s new super high salaries as the reason we don’t have a pot to urinate in, when it comes to making signings.

      It’s a quandary.

No one is bigger than the club - and if it means selling to make sure the club stays afloat then so be it.

I'd rather wallow in another period of mediocrity knowing we'll be in a good position for another Klopp/title winning team down the line.

I think we’ll sell him and rebuild the squad with the money. He’s fantastic but he’ll be 30 next year and if the figures you put there are close to correct, there is no way we’ll pay him that. Only way he stays for me is he accepts less money and I will agree with the owners if they don’t want to pay that and risk breaking the wage structure.

Thing with Mo, he does seem to improve with age and his record of staying fit and hardly getting injured is second to none and I can easily see him playing that well until 33/34 much like Messi and develop his game so that he doesn’t have to play on the shoulder of defenders that much and it would be a shame not to keep him. See
          Are we winning?

We've possibly only another 2 seasons of Klopp so not sure he could achieve that if we have a period of mediocrity. Could be as simple as pay them or lose the chance of another title under Klopp.

I'd rather the club did everything needed to secure that and don't care if it costs them a fortune

He's a master of disguise! Literally looks a different person

Sorry I meant another Klopp type manager (world class/good cultural fit etc)

Pay him whatever. He's more than worth it. There's only a handful of players at his level. Any potential replacement s transfer fee + wages blow Mo's wages out of the water.

We're all in with this squad and manager.

A golden period for the club

Yep that's where I'm at too - pay him whatever he wants. He'll keep going and scoring goals til he's 35+ imo.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                      Yep

Currently there is no one else at his level.

He's different level, that type of elite player is hard to find. Personally I don't think we'll pay him what he wants and I completely understand why we wouldn't. Then again look at his output, it is up with the very best who are on those type of silly wages & as mentioned a replacement for him will want that wage anyways. It's a poxy situation, it'll be gutting to see him leave.

Put £2:00 on the ticket price then we’ll all be happy, or not.

In the end whether he stays or goes we’ll end up paying for it one way or another

I think the answer is we'll do both. Kind of. I'm expecting him to sign a new deal. I'm also expecting him to be sold in the Summer for a massive fee, before his value deteriorates.

I think we need to spend big soon. The only time we've actually done that under FSG is through player sales (Suarez and Coutinho the big examples). Salah is the obvious future candidate for that I'm afraid.

                            I hope I'm wrong but I'm predicting:
                            - him to sign his contract to preserve his transfer value
                            - then in the Spring we'll hear a rumour he'd like to move
                            - then he'll be sold at the start of the transfer window.
                            - we quickly make some good signings to appease the fans

I hope I'm wrong and I usually am (I thought it might happen this Summer and it didn't), but I just don't see how else we can put the investment into the squad that we need.

I think he will stay. I also think he wants to stay.

He is all about breaking records, he knows he can go down as one of our all time greats and break records. He’s a humble guy, we will find a compromise.

To those who're suggesting he'll be sold.

Who's in a position to buy him?

We're not selling to another English club.
None of the German club could afford his transfer fee + wages
                                Barca are skint
We're not going to loan him out with an agreement to buy so that rules out all the Italian clubs
                                Barca are skint
Real are all in on Mbappe
                                That only really leaves PSG.
