Getting news his contract is sorted before the weekend would be absolutely brilliant.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that there was maybe some support based ambivalence about how good Mo is, and that his making the extraordinary ordinary was part of the issue.
He has taken his levels up even from that point. I think this season the support base is finally fully behind him (they always have been, but with an eye on upgrading). I think the Mbappe faction have even been silenced and come to realise that we actually have a world superstar within our squad right now. I am all for empire building, but the time is now for us to kick on and win some titles. If we can get the next 3 seasons of elite level Salah, then I think he will help win us 3-4 big trophies.
Then Salah leaves and Klopp leaves and most of the rest of the squad are past their best and I stop watching football for ever
Modifying post.

They are probably still walking into walls in a daze.Originally posted by RedAndWhite View PostI reckon some of the Watford defenders, even after watching multiple replays, still aren't sure what exactly happened them._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

I don't think there's a player in football I'd be happy to see us swap him for. He works perfectly in the style of football we play, he's always been brilliant for us but this season he seems to have somehow gone up a notch. The goals against City and Watford I don't think you'd see anyone other than perhaps Messi doing that and I mean an absolute peak Messi at that.

If he is not already, he is one or two seasons away from being up with the likes of Gerrard, Dalglish as club icons (as are a few of the current mob).
It has always been baffling to me that, say Van Dijk has readily been accepted as one of the most pivotal signings ever, Salah didnt get the same love. I suspect some of the media narrative fed into that (greedy, diving foreigner, hates team mates).
None of it was true.
See Mane's comments about him at the weekend.
I agree, no player in world football can replace him and that will be the same for the next few seasons. He is getting better. A terrifying prospect for defenders.Modifying post.

I always chuckles when I think back to his 2nd season here, he went 2 (max 3) games without scoring and someone on here was giving him grief, claiming "he can only live off them goals from last season for so long".Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI mentioned earlier in this thread that there was maybe some support based ambivalence about how good Mo is, and that his making the extraordinary ordinary was part of the issue.

Actually, now I think, someone also complained during his record breaking first season, that Salah annoyed him when he watch, because he didn't finish enough chances.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think though tbf, our attack was our strong point before Salah came in- he just massively improved something which was already pretty great.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt has always been baffling to me that, say Van Dijk has readily been accepted as one of the most pivotal signings ever, Salah didnt get the same love. With vvd, our defense was a mess beforehand. There’s a clear difference in the Liverpool defense before/after vvd, where all of a sudden we’re able to win games 1-0.
I guess Allison is in the same category too- first time since Reina that we had a top goalkeeper and first time in my lifetime that we had a really world class keeper.
I agree though that the Salah transfer doesn’t get acknowledged enough as being pure genius. £36m, and worth £150m+ easily, 1 season later. Just incredible. What all 3 signings had in common, is that opposition fans were laughing at the time, that we were paying too much etc. “£36m for a chelsea reject”
I don't tip

[ame]https://twitter.com/telefootball/status/1450085898947858435[/ame]Where Suarez was castigated in some quarters for having the audacity to leave Liverpool, Salah may soon find himself questioned for wanting to re-sign on terms understood to be in the region of £400,000 a week.Last edited by Mark79; 18-10-21, 07:35 PM..
