I don't see how the club can find any justifiable way to weasel their way (a harsh way of putting it given everything) out of offering Salah the contract he's so clearly earned. And if it does end up with an impasse, kind of Gini style, then it would be an unforgivable faux pas of FSG's.
A nothing comment
- I've been drinking - but I just think it has to get done. There's literally no justifiable reason to not offer it him. It makes sense financially, in a sporting sense, the lot.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Fairly sure players get contracts backdated to when talks began to stop this malarkey.Originally posted by Fivex View PostMy hunch is they’re just keeping him on the lower wage for as long as possible, if he’s giving the goods and you know you’ll be giving him the contract he wants, seems worth savjng a few million pushing it back from a business pov
No money saved but the carrot of the contract improving performances?

The big difference with Gini’s negotiation is Gini never to my knowledge came out and said he wanted to spend the rest of his career at LFC. He wanted Barca, hedged his bets and came up with PSG.
I’m not sure how much clearer Salah can be? He wants legendary status at the club. He wants all the records he can get. And now we’ve got Klopp saying the same. And also talking about how long Mo could be at the top level for.
It’s a matter of time.Modifying post.

I'm 99% sure I seen an almost identical statement from Gini. Certainly repeated ones that he wanted to stay, but was out of his hands.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThe big difference with Gini’s negotiation is Gini never to my knowledge came out and said he wanted to spend the rest of his career at LFC. The angle I fear is the transfer funds his sale would bring could be tempting justification to sell. But klopp would need to be on board with that and if so wouldn't expect any comments like those.
So just get it done!

I've no doubt Salah would like to stay, but only if LFC pay him what he feels he's worth.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThe big difference with Gini’s negotiation is Gini never to my knowledge came out and said he wanted to spend the rest of his career at LFC. If not, he'll want to go to a club that will.
He's been clear alright, he's put the ball firmly in FSG's court..

As has been said before this is huge for FSG, we want to be in the market for the best players around or we want to be developing the best players around. Here we have a guy that has become the best whilst playing for us. We got him for cheap and he wants to stay. The best player in the world already playing for us and he wants to stay.
Anything other than a signed contract will be a massive let down.
If he was at Chelsea, Utd or City, it would get done. Even Arsenal went all in on PEA knowing they couldn't replace him in the market. Utd resigned Ronaldo even knowing the potential disruption.
Huge moment for FSG to make a statement of intent.Modifying post.
