If he stays it will be for the love not the money. Although I expect the only club who could afford him at the moment is PSG, Although Real always seem to find it from somewhere. Mpappe to RM, Salah to PSG but then I am sure Gini could warn him off!!_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

And this is probably part of the equation, only PSG can afford him but will he want to join a club like that AND play second fiddle to a fading Messi. He deserves better than that, and I think that is hero worship and legend status at Liverpool.Originally posted by red g View PostAlthough I expect the only club who could afford him at the moment is PSG, Although Real always seem to find it from somewhere. I am pretty confident that we will get somewhere near to what he wants Got to be a compromise there I think. Its his last big pay day, But I would be absolutely shocked if the contract wasnt signed.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostAnd this is probably part of the equation, only PSG can afford him but will he want to join a club like that AND play second fiddle to a fading Messi. he is completely right to demand to be one of the top paid in the league, but I think he knows that Liverpool can’t afford stupid money like psg, city, united etc could pay him…
But as you say, I think he will be happy to compromise, given everything else that we bring to the table. He’s obviously very happy here, and as a player who only reached world class status in his late twenties, he won’t take it for granted, what LFC has done for his career. The way he looks after himself I see mo having another 4/5 seasons at the top, and if he does that at LFC, he has the potential to be our best ever player.
I think Salahs mindset is that he wants to stay at LFC, but may as well squeeze as much as possible out of it, which is totally fair.I don't tip

I think we all hope and agree that that is the case. The club will have a ceiling and Mo is using his team to find out what that is and to push us to that limit.Originally posted by Mr Pink View Post

I don't think he's afraid to move on but he will know that his status at PSG or Madrid will never match what he has here

. There is nowhere in the world he can go that's a step up from LFC. We've not been able to say that in the past but right now that's a fact.

yip totally agree...... there is a fella on the Anfield Wrap that keeps reiterating the fact that although we have had brilliant teams and players over the years, this is simply the best football that any LFC fan has ever seen and probably will ever see.
Totally agree.

Without a doubt, best ever LFC team!...& Salah has seen those who left have noticed that the grass ain't green or greener than it is at Anfield so not taking any chances but will hold out for a better deal as mentioned above.Originally posted by frank the tank View Post

If Mo is serious about staying and I think he is, then him and his agent need to accept he'll never be the leagues highest paid player at LFC. We're not about that. He's seen how others have got on since leaving and the grass isn't always greener. Hopefully we'll up our level a bit and with some compromise on Mo's part we can find something that works. I would think 350k a week would be our absolute max. If it's money that drives him, alas it'll be goodbye. Or he stays with us for another 3 or 4 years winning things and then plays out his twilight years of his career in China or the Middle East. That way he gets meaniful trophies and a bumper pay packet!!Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
