If he trys to stay and leave free next year then his legacy is tarnished imo. Way down the list of Liverpool legends.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostIf, as is rumoured we have made an offer that would make him the highest paid player in the premier league and that isn’t enough, then I have no problem with flogging him off to PSG.

That's the scenario I struggle with. If the club decide they want to sell instead of letting him wind his contract down, what do they do? Say, 'he's for sale!'? Presumably, his agent would talk to the usual suspects (PSG, Barca, etc) who would tell him to sit tight and wait. Then what does the club do? Refuse to play him? It seems that he either signs soonish or he is going on a free...Originally posted by Rafa Justice View PostIf he trys to stay and leave free next year then his legacy is tarnished imo. That's also true. I guess the positive is that we get him playing for the full length of his contract; the negative is that we turned him into a world beater and we get no cash for our efforts. To get the cash, we would have had to sell last summer...and imagine how that would have gone down...

Mo Salah

great player, great guy, everything about him is amazing, but if he wants to break this club to match his personal financial ambitions, then he can go. the world is full of players who want to take his job. we have a set up at the moment who seem likely to identify the ones who are capable. if he thinks he'll be happier somewhere else for any reason, i wish him well but goodbye.
Spot on. If the club have stretched the financials as far as feasibly possible, there’s not much more they can do. If Mo’s agent is being a ****** by playing this out in the media instead of behind closed doors, this paints a worse picture of him than the club.
Not sure if we’d sell Mo (financial package would be astronomical and only PSG or Newcastle likely afford it) or he becomes part of the rotation of the front three so we’re managing his transition and exit properly…
Would we even be able to offer higher even if we won a treble/quadruple… sets a precedent for all other players to come knocking… our wage bill is already massive.

The club is sustainable and we'll bring someone else from within or bring a young player who's going to pick up where Mo left.
