Without Mo in the team last season we'd have been mid table at best.
Yes last summer when his value was higher. The model relies on selling your top player and reinvesting. He may of scored 19 goals but the team played ****. We should have been looking out for his replacement 18 months ago. He'll always post decent numbers (as long as he remains on pens), but I feel his lack of dyanism and athlete ability to get about like he used to is detriment to the team. He continues to run into defenders whether he's not marked, double marked or triple marked. His shots lack any power these days. He still produces the odd great pass or assist such as the brilliant one at Chelsea. Off the pitch he seems happier than ever, when you see the inside football clips. That is what makes his effort on the pitch so frustrating. He's a great guy, but does anyone think he'll ever get back to the form of a few years ago? It's knowing when to get rid of your players as they age or get run into the ground that seems a real issue with us these days. Hence giving hendo a stupid contract.

That's my opinion. I'm not claiming to be right. If you feel differently, I have no issue with that. We both want the team to succeed, we just have different ideas on how to get there.

Are they really concerned with winning over the Islamic world? I don't think being a retirement mansion for fading, aging players is going to do much in the long term for the Saudi League's cachet. If they were so keen to get this "Islamic superstar" into the league, I'd think they'd try to do it sooner (as in now) rather than later, not leave it until he is another year older, with potentially another year of wear and tear dulling his celebrity sheen. Shouldn't he have been the first name on the list when all this kicked off, with an offer we couldn't refuse, if they rated him so highly?

There is always the real possibility that they would adopt a wildly ostentatious "give them want they want" approach, but I'm sceptical; I'm just assuming it will be a nice escape hatch for us to unload the final year of his contract along with a respectable chuck of change in the £40-50mil region.

Maybe Salah didn’t want to go. It’s only on here that he is being written off.

I think he didn’t want to go into semi retirement yet and I think the idea of playing in SA would be appealing to Islamic players - close to Mecca and Medina and in a country where they are part of the dominant religion

“it is rare to be watching an all time great”

Since 1977 there’s only 2 seasons where we weren’t watching at least one of these top 10!! And if we extended the list to the top 16 then there would have been no seasons in this time!!

However, I do agree that we should enjoy him while we can. In 50 years time people are gonna be watching clips of Salah, the way we watch clips of Kenny.
                    I don't tip

It’s definitely not rare, I’ve seen six of the ten play live.
