I think this will all be part of the game, obviously he and his agent will feel he should be getting the same or higher wages the club will be wanting to offer a reduced wage perhaps with more bonuses etc. He could negotiate with other clubs from January so it is in his and his agents interest to hold out snd be able to come back with xxx club have offered yyy, he wants to stay but you need to match that
