It was quoted in the Mirror, so I thought I'd not pass it on lol

He is one of, if not our greatest (ever) players. But he is 33 next season and we should be paying for the future. He's already been paid for the past. I do hope we keep him as it is pointless to let him go now, for free, but curious to see the terms of any deal (such that we will). It should reflect the risk to the club as well as reflect his value. By risk, I mean if he did a cruciate ligament or something like that, it would likely be game over career wise.
            Really?

That's the tweet that was translated incorrectly by a few outlets the past couple days.

It apparantly says something along the lines of how his form is so good that the club should be offering him whatever he wants.

Mark69ingthefamily dog has a tweet up in one of the other theads mentioning the proper translation
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The Mirror now reporting the deal is pretty much done - https://x.com/MirrorFootball/status/1865526512075620376

                Sounding positive.

Amazing news if true! Hopefully they’re not basing it on the mistranslated tweet above

Haha... Now watch his form drop off a cliff

I think a 2 year deal is the correct length. I imagine its at a premium though.

At the end of the day, none of us will care if we end up with a couple of big trophies during that time.

Our nine point lead is now 4 points... Lots of work still to do, and we need Mo at his best.

If it’s true and it’s 2 years I hope there is a club option set in already for a third. He could easily still be performing at a very good level then and you don’t want another long drawn out negotiation.

I was all for selling him for big money in the summer. Now I'm scared of losing him. He's got at least one if not two world class seasons left in him.

I'm non fussed as I only care about this season.

2 years sounds about right, hopefully with a Club option for another year

This could be just the fillip we need to sustain our title challenge!
