Sure, but my eyes show him struggling to get into games, buildups breaking down when he gets the ball, other players looking for him at the expense of other players in good positions, then him contributing goals and assists, usually later in games. Of course you can consider as many complexities as you like, but I like the idea of bringing him off the bench later in games, particularly games that a tighter and less open.

I'd like to see Slot start to play him in a rotation with Frimpong. Let Frimpong run the opposition centre backs ragged for 60/70 minutes then bring Mo on for the final portion of the game.

I don’t disagree with optimising how we use Salah. Would be fascinating to see how he impacts games from the bench. I suspect it will happen but as things stand unless we go for a different formation (or we use Frimpong) we don’t have cover for him.

He'd be doing a lot better if refs stopped letting every defender headlock and bear hug him all the time. So many times in every game he'd have been able to spin passed them and run half the field but hes never allowed to move. You could see in the arsenal match he got majorly ****ed off with the ref.

It's not the length of time he's on the pitch, it's about the games opening up more in later stages, teams needing to get back into the game and committing numbers, tiredness (which he's immune to), stuff like that, that's when he shines. I don't believe the premise that he takes an hour to warm up at all.

I've had my disagreements with Harv before but I think what he's said here is pretty reasonable.

Salah had a stinker by his standards - there probably are many tactical reasons for that as well, but his touch and control were poor when he did have opportunities for us to counter quickly

Keep seeing Gakpo stats pop up, he's won most duals in PL, won most fouls now too. Made me wonder, how is this possible seeing as Salah demands that everything goes down his wing and this is our biggest shortcoming, our overreliance on him.

So I checked some stats and it turns out that there hasn't been a single game when Mo had more touches that Gakpo. His total number of touches are well short.

Anyway, not that interesting, very few Salah posts are these fats, but at least it is fact based.
