I think Salah himself has alluded to the difficulty he's experiencing in adapting to a changed team. Jota's death is huge, but also the departure of Diaz and Darwin. It's a very human situation but there's also the fact that he's a year older and surely a two year contract extension makes it clear to him that he's leaving soon. Anyway, he's becoming pretty droppable pretty quickly unless something changes. A mild injury that gets him out the team for a bit might be good for all concerned.

I don't know who this RW we have that is pushing for Salah's place but all our forwards other than Frimpong favour the left.

For the avoidance of doubt the club offered him a three year deal but he only committed to two. He confirmed that in the Neville interview.

Those numbers that were somewhat dismissed is a ridiculous take. Those were ATG numbers. You'd be surprised if you watched Haaland often, he barely touches the ball in most games - Salah rarely goes missing. He's obviously going to dip as he ages but even if he had half the numbers he had last year he'd still be a top player in any team.

We're going to sign Olise in the summer anyway, so enjoy the fella while we have him.

100% he has been outstanding for us. My fear this season is the new signings have yet to settle in and start performing, and that’s impacting Mo’s stats, plus there is an AFCON this season too. I think his form has dipped after AFCON in the past, but maybe Egypt get knocked out early this time and he is on fire when he returns - fingers crossed!

He was very good, lovely vintage Salah goal too, he's just so strong and almost impossible to push off the ball. Should have had 2 or 3 tonight.. looked sharp.

I think his problem this season has been failing to get involved in play. He has looked very isolated. He did move inside a lot, I wonder if Slot has told him to do that more often. Definitely opened up play a lot more when he got into those positions.

IMO that was an incredibly poor ball to Ekitike. Made what should be a simple 10/10 tap in into a 5/10 half volley landing just before it got to him.

Still should bury it, but made it a lot harder than it needed to be by hitting the ball like that.
