I don't know who this RW we have that is pushing for Salah's place but all our forwards other than Frimpong favour the left.Originally posted by badpiggy View PostI think Salah himself has alluded to the difficulty he's experiencing in adapting to a changed team. Jota's death is huge, but also the departure of Diaz and Darwin. It's a very human situation but there's also the fact that he's a year older and surely a two year contract extension makes it clear to him that he's leaving soon. Anyway, he's becoming pretty droppable pretty quickly unless something changes. A mild injury that gets him out the team for a bit might be good for all concerned.
For the avoidance of doubt the club offered him a three year deal but he only committed to two. He confirmed that in the Neville interview.
Those numbers that were somewhat dismissed is a ridiculous take. Those were ATG numbers. You'd be surprised if you watched Haaland often, he barely touches the ball in most games - Salah rarely goes missing. He's obviously going to dip as he ages but even if he had half the numbers he had last year he'd still be a top player in any team.
We're going to sign Olise in the summer anyway, so enjoy the fella while we have him.

If his goal tally drops, I agree he will be off to Saudi next summer.
If he wins the golden boot and is looking back to his best, I think he’ll stay to break as many records as he can.We are here for a good time not a long time....

I feel like we have this conversation pretty much every year about Mo.
He rarely has dips, but when he does (and he currently is) it just highlights how totally reliant on his productivity we normally are. There is a lot of change within the team and it is affecting all of the attacking play. The great thing is we have options.
He has dropped from his typical levels of immortality to just (currently) average. And average Mo still gets G’s and A’s.Modifying post.

100% he has been outstanding for us. My fear this season is the new signings have yet to settle in and start performing, and that’s impacting Mo’s stats, plus there is an AFCON this season too. I think his form has dipped after AFCON in the past, but maybe Egypt get knocked out early this time and he is on fire when he returns - fingers crossed!Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI feel like we have this conversation pretty much every year about Mo.

Salah was good tonight. Inches from a hat-trick with the curling shot annd hitting the post - and Hugo should have buried that cross. Got rough housed and gave the ball up a couple of times but a return to form.
His goal was brilliant. The strength to hold of three defenders… write him off at your peril!Modifying post.

I think his problem this season has been failing to get involved in play. He has looked very isolated. He did move inside a lot, I wonder if Slot has told him to do that more often. Definitely opened up play a lot more when he got into those positions. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

IMO that was an incredibly poor ball to Ekitike. Made what should be a simple 10/10 tap in into a 5/10 half volley landing just before it got to him.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post

Still should bury it, but made it a lot harder than it needed to be by hitting the ball like that.
Either put it at his head or run it along the ground"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Forgot about that. That was a Nunez like miss.Originally posted by SB View PostYeah I agree it wasn’t an easy chance at all but should have been along the ground to him. I’m pleased it or Mo hitting the post didn’t cost us points
